Sleazy Old Senate

If that's the way it had to be, that's the way it is. The Democrats will get all the glory when America is healthy and prosperous.

They already are as healthy and prosperous as they're gonna be.

That bill isn't going to make things better.

You want people to be healthy then institute a national workout program.

You want people to be prosperous....then get off their fucken backs. Stop dreaming up new ways to tax them...in effect...steal their futures from under their noses.

This bill is a step toward creating a universally healthy workforce which will become the basis of unprecedented prosperity.

Dream on pal.

All this will do is raise the premium costs for those of us with healthcare and raise taxes to pay for it. What a load of bs. Hope they take a picture of the HISTORIC MOMENT because it ain't gonna last long.

I ain't gonna hold my breath for all that prospertiy to come rolling around and neither should you. On second thought. Mayby you should.

Nope, you dream on. The Insurance Giants have raised their rates in some cases 400% since 2000, and you just keep taking it. The CEO of United gets 3/4 of BILLION dollars in stock options in five years and you keep taking it. 45,000 Americans die every year because they can't access health care, and you keep taking it.

You are already paying for the unisured, and you keep taking it.

This “hidden tax” on health insurance arises from a failure to continuously cover all Americans and accounts for roughly 8 percent of the average health insurance premium. This cost-shift amounts to $1,100 per average family premium in 2009 and $410 per average individual premium. By 2013, assuming the cost shift remains the same percentage of premium costs, the cost shift will be approximately $480 for an individual policy and $1,300 for a family policy.

The Cost Shift from the Uninsured

Back-of-the-envelope estimates of the added cost of covering the uninsured are easy to produce. Personal health care spending in 2008 will total an estimated $2 trillion. Approximately 17 percent of the population is uninsured. According to a commonly used rule of thumb, the uninsured consume about half as much health care as the insured.

But the uninsured on the average are younger and therefore use less care than do the insured. Seventeen percent, divided by two (to allow for care already consumed) and discounted for age differences brings the calculation down to about 6-7 percent of $2 trillion, or about $120-$140 billion.

Covering the Uninsured: Cheap at Twice the Price - Brookings Institution

The only ones who benefit from the current set-up are the Insurance Gangster and their paid politicians on both sides. Trust me, they pass on the cost of the unisured to you and me who have care.

They are nothing but middle men who provide no care themselves. They spend up to 30% on administrative costs,

And the right keeps taking it and saying we have the best health care system in the world.

Proctologists love the right.

60 to 39. Does that mean the right voted in a bloc?

No, it means the left voted in a block, even though some had to be bribed to go along with it.

How can that NOT mean the Republicans voted in a bloc? It's simple mathematics.

This is not the bill the Democrats want. If it was it would have a public option in it and probably a Medicare buy-in, both measures which are solidly supported by the public.

The Democrats have their majority. in both houses, if this Bill is not what they want it is not anyones fault but their own. They are the ones in charge. This is what you wanted. The Democrats had to give up their dreams and bribe their own just to get any Bill at all. If it weren't so tragic it would be absolutely hilarious. Super majority and still can't get what they want........ No one could make this shit up.
