I am all for raising the minimum wage, I think all companies will have to do it to compete. I am not so much fond of the government arbitrary forcing the minimum wage to be raised. One way to raise the minimum wage is for a person to get an education or training. And not training in how to flip a burger, those jobs are going fast.

Reducing competition for those jobs, thus the business owner can name their price. I don't support open borders; allowing the market to set a minimum wage when that market, like most markets (energy cartels excepted), are ruled by supply and demand. Have you notices how many persons from south of our border work in restaurants, hotels and motels, in gardening services, roofing, and general labor jobs?

It doesn't take a graduate degree to understand the basic principles of economics.

Labor unions support those who are legally able to work in the United States; Right to work states (euphemism for union busting states) allow employers to employees willing to work illegally (under the table). Thus the employer and the employee can avoid payroll taxes - the employer wins and the undocumented worker is happy to be exploited until hurt on a job not covered by Worker's comp.

What you characterize as a business practice is fraud, a felony.
