Should We Force Porn Actors To Wear Condoms By Law?

No, it is their choice.

A. People do not have the right to choose to acquire deadly diseases.

B. People do not have the right to teach others how to acquire deadly diseases.

C. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but there's no thread if everyone agrees. Even YoungLefty has let me down....no one is even willing to consider this? Where are all the nannies?

Before every porn they have to run a PSA about safe sex.

Good thing we have liberals teaching our kids about safe sex. :D

How about we stop watching porn so the industry becomes unprofitable and they get jobs that are actually productive for society?

Yeah, that's gonna happen. That's the most idealistic thing I've ever heard. :cuckoo: I could support the porn industry myself the amount I watch it...

Because we should never force anyone to do anything.

We force people to do shit all the time. If I can be nagged about wearing my seat belt, why not this?

Because your wearing a seat belt impacts on other people who have not chosen to put their life at risk by your actions. People who choose to work in the porn industry do so at their own risk. And, if they get AIDs, frankly, that is tough shit on them. As long as I don't have to pay for their treatment, it's fine with me.

Isn't there a law already that people have to disclose their HIV status to a partner? If so, why not enforce that? If not, that's something that should be mandatory. Not just for a handful of porn actors...

Uh....how is the guy gonna get laid if he goes around telling everyone he's got AIDS?

[Just kidding....sorry...]

The porn industry is the least of your worries. If you want government to force anyone to use condoms then its the general public you need to be worrying about. And that is never going to happen.

So having an opinion that you think its a good idea that porn actors wear condoms may be great, laws will never be passed forcing them to use them.

Then maybe you should stop and then provide that money for the poor and oppressed instead of outsourcing charity to other people through the government.

I'm amazed, truly, that you seem to think this is a good thing rather than recognizing that if you truly could support the industry that much that maybe you have a problem.

Pornography is deception. That which you gaze upon, you become.

But the fact is we do have to pay for their treatment despite the fact that we have told the President and Congress that we don't want to.

However, even without the monetary costs, we still pay for it. As long as society continues to pay for this garbage in our lives, we will pay for it in one way or another. With our families, with our jobs, with our sense of right and wrong, with our childrens lives.

Pornography is one of the greatest cancers on our modern society.

Maybe, you should mind your own business. This is a free country, and I'll do what I want, in my own time, by myself. End of story. I said that above comment as kind of a joke. I don't actually buy porn, usually. I can't spend money on it, and even if I could, I wouldn't want to, because I often feel pathetic and lousy about it, but I can't help it if I don't have a girlfriend. I usually just go to free sites on the internet. The point is, The sexual outlet has to be there, or else people would go insane. If you ask me, I think porn provides a great service. Without it, people would probably go crazy, and there would be more rapes and violent crimes, because you can't repress sexuality as you have seen. If people can't at least live their sexual fantasies vicariously through porn-stars or any kind of porn, bad things start happening. Sexual repression on any level builds, as we have seen.

If anything, it speaks to the lack of social skills I have, to not be able to get a girlfriend, and actually have sex with someone real, which would eliminate the need for porn. Further, masturbation is one of the funnest things to do in my free time, sadly. I'm not happy about, as it is not a very enlightened lifestyle. You are right about many things, but You are being way too idealistic and, I hate to be insulting, but naive about this. I agree that many people need money out there, way more than do rich porn execs. But, this is one of the drawbacks of living in a free, capitalistic society where consumers are truly free to put their money where they want to: people get money who don't really need it. That's just the way it is. Accept it and stop trying to control others.
