notice they never link to these polls and actually have the demographics available'
I have found a rule of thumb as it pertains to polls...
If you do not see the demographics at first glance?
It gives you MORE reason to dig and find them.
Not me. I just consider material copy and pasted without link or explanation to be blowing smoke from people who don't give a damn about whether it is defensible or not. They just hope the ignorant and gullible will swallow it whole and applaud them for their brilliance.
(Sorry. I'm grumpy today. But it is absurd to post stuff with no link or disclaimer and leave it to others to go look for the source.)
OK...here is the release of the poll:
http://www.strategictelemetry.com/docs/Walker_Budget_Survey_022811.pdf
Here is the paragraph where it makes it clear that all those polled were democratic voters or would be democratic voters (findings section...para 4):
Wisconsin does not have party registration, so it is not possible to quantify the number of
Democrats, Republicans and independents who feel that Walker should be recalled. However, there are a number of microtargeting models that predict the likelihood of any voter supportingDemocratic candidates, and the likelihood of their being willing to take actions like volunteeringfor a campaign, or going door‐to‐door to collect signatures.
And here is a link to the election results:
Wisconsin gubernatorial election, 2010 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
And here is the pertinant part of the link:
Election Results
Party Candidate Votes Percentage
Democratic Tom Barrett 1,004,303 46%
Republican Scott Walker 1,128,941 52%
Totals 2,160,832 100%
And here is the link to how many wisconsin voters there are:
Answers.com - How many Wisconsin registered voters are there
Now.....someone else can do the math....but I know I am correct.....if the 608 people polled is an accurate reading oif the trend.....then 300,000 who voted for Barrett do NOT want a recall.
Oh yeah...and by the way....here is the link to the polling company.....
Strategic Telemetry, Inc. - Welcome to Strategic Telemetry
And here is what it says about itself found toward the end of the survey linked above...
