Shocking no one, Mitt Romney is a dick to our troops

Asked by a friendly news outlet why he didn't bother praising our troops in his speech, Romney responded:

When you give a speech you don't go through a laundry list, you talk about the things you think are important.
Wrong answer. You thank the fucking troops. They are not a laundry list. And while Romney might not think they are important, they kind of are.

Romney then goes on to claim that he talked about a "strong military", which was totally the same as thanking the troops for their service. Except that it's not. One of them speaks to the institution, the other speaks to the individuals who do the work of the institution. It's the same distinction as corporations and the people who work for them -- a distinction that Romney famously fails to understand.

I don't get it. Wasn't Mittens a "man in uniform" when he was in HS and college? One would think he would care more about men and women in uniform.

Sometimes when I’m lying in bed at night counting sheep and thinking about the day I often wonder about: 1) ponies and 2) the fact that a bigger deal hasn’t been made about the fact Mitt Romney used to dress up like a police officer in college and pull people over. For fun."

Yeah, that Mittens...a guy the troops could really get behind. He protested FOR the draft...then dodged it.

yeah, by all means, let's re-elect the jackass that did this to the troops...
Obama's speech text from Democratic National Convention 2012 in Charlotte | abc7chicago.com
Tonight, we pay tribute to the Americans who still serve in harm's way. We are forever in debt to a generation whose sacrifice has made this country safer and more respected. We will never forget you. And so long as I'm commander in chief, we will sustain the strongest military the world has ever known. When you take off the uniform, we will serve you as well as you've served us- because no one who fights for this country should have to fight for a job, or a roof over their head, or the care that they need when they come home.

Obama cuts military health care benefits, leaves unionized civilians untouched
The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched. The proposal is causing a major rift within the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials. Several congressional aides suggested the move is designed to increase the enrollment in Obamacare’s state-run insurance exchanges.

Ron Paul: Obama's proposed cuts to veteran healthcare 'unjust and immoral'
The Obama plan proposes a $200 annual fee for retired military families who want to continue coverage under a Tricare-for-Life program that supplements Medicare coverage for veterans over 65.

"Cutting the benefits of our Veterans benefits while we subsidize the security of other wealthy nations like Germany and Japan and play World Policeman makes no sense," Paul said. "The money we would save extracting our fighting men and women and our equipment from overseas conflicts and regions will more than offset the savings you seek by upending the manner in which veterans receive care."

VA secretary vs. Obama and his lousy record on vets
President Obama publicly said Monday at the VFW Convention that VA is exempt from sequestration, yet the Secretary conceded today that VA would face cuts early next year if a sequester takes place,” stated Rep. Jeff Miller, Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. “Since last August, I have been asking this question and until today, I have received nothing but double speak. I am now demanding that VA and the President define ‘administrative costs.’ Does this mean closing veterans’ hospitals, fewer claims processors to help veterans with their disability compensation, longer wait times for veterans suffering from the invisible wounds of war or those having to bury a loved one, not to mention the possible impact on homeless veterans’ programs and research to care for our wounded warriors? Congress, and more important, our veterans, deserve an honest, straight-forward answer. . . . [O]ver the next five years, there is the potential for one million serving men and women to either leave military service or demobilize from active duty,” raising numerous questions on the already convoluted transition process for veterans.

should I continue, or do you get the picture???

Mitt said he talked about the things that he felt were important. Our troops come from the Middle Class. The "little people". Clearly, they aren't "important".

And Obama lets them die in useless wars-Afghanistan rings a bell ,and obama is to much into getting reelected to give a shit and did not give a shit before.....

From your first article:

The White House wants $6 billion next year for a new veterans job corps initiative to employ thousands of former servicemembers as police officers, firefighters and park rangers.

I think Romney already gave us the "opposing view"

that's right... ignore the links. Be a good little libtard stooge.

Why would they want to suppress military votes???

They donate to Obama WAY more than to Mittwit.

Did you check the date on the charts? its from 2/23/12, so before Romney was even the candidate. Obama was 100% assured to be the dem candidate, and Ron Paul has his own true believers.

Politifact would call this "Pants on Fire"
Mittwit, Newtie, and Santorum (Google him!) COMBINED don't reach Obama's level.

What War?

By WILLIAM KRISTOL

The United States has some 68,000 troops fighting in Afghanistan. Over two thousand Americans have died in the more than ten years of that war, a war Mitt Romney has supported. Yet in his speech accepting his party's nomination to be commander in chief, Mitt Romney said not a word about the war in Afghanistan. Nor did he utter a word of appreciation to the troops fighting there, or to those who have fought there. Nor for that matter were there thanks for those who fought in Iraq, another conflict that went unmentioned.

Leave aside the question of the political wisdom of Romney's silence, and the opportunities it opens up for President Obama next week. What about the civic propriety of a presidential nominee failing even to mention, in his acceptance speech, a war we're fighting and our young men and women who are fighting it? Has it ever happened that we've been at war and a presidential nominee has ignored, in this kind of major and formal speech, the war and our warriors?

Im sure Mitt Romney would be shocked. After all, he treats people with respect.

He didn't have the balls to fire the GTI workers to their face. He left it to their union rep to do it. That's not a sign of respect. It sort of surprises me, since recreational firing of people from their livelihood is something he claims to enjoy.

Shocking no one, the issues Romney spoke about were the serious issues of the day, our crumbling economy, the lack of jobs and the ability of this presidebt to throw our allies under the bus while kissing the asses of our enemies.

The douchebag also said that Russia was our number one military threat. Are you fucking serious?

Romney doesn't give a shit about the troops, or foreign policy in general for that matter, because he's a corporate guy,

he wants to be CEO of America the company, not President of America the country.

He'll let the neocon crazies he's surrounded himself with pull the puppet strings on his foreign policy, in the tragic event that he's elected president.
