Shocker or Blowout?

This election will provide us with one of the two. As it stands now, it looks like an Obama blowout. There still are some factors that could swing it to McCain though. With most polls showing the race tightening to within four or five points, it would only take three percent of voters to switch from Obama to McCain.

Do I think this is likely? No.

I do wonder about one thing. If Obama wins, will McCain supporters riot in the streets? If McCain wins, will Obama supporters riot in the streets?

If your answer is yes to either one, would you question the mentality of those who support that particular candidate?

I'm an Obama supporter and I would hit the streets if he lost. Every single poll in the entire country, no matter how biased, is showing an Obama victory. Maybe not popular vote landslide, but a victory nontheless. Like football, all that matters is winning, it doesn't matter by how much. There are numerous reports of right wing voter suppression... voting machines in West Virginia being re-calbirated so all Obama votes go for McCain, flyers in Virginia saying the election for Democrats is the day AFTER the election...

The only thing worse than an Obama loss is an Obama assasination. That would cause massive riots across the country.

You believe polls? :eusa_whistle:

I can't decide what concerns me more about these brain-dead liberals... that they actually want to take this country down a few notches to the level of say France... or that they are voting out of their hatred of George Bush and not realizing they are doing something 100 times worse.

So you would hit the streets if McCain won? Does that mean you would take part in riots? The way things look now, if there is much voter fraud taking place, it will be on the Democratic side, as ACORN has been complicite in registering all kinds of people who don't even exist.

For McCain to win, it would only take a slight movement from the current polling numbers. I will support McCain begrudgingly. I don't really care for him, but I do believe Obama will do more harm than good. I don't see Obama as some demon; I just think he is wrong on a number of issues. With that said, If Obama wins, I will not be hitting the streets to overturn cars and start fires or to riot on mass as I expect would happen if McCain were to win.

At this point, I have no idea who is going to win. Obama did have a commanding lead, but now it's almost a statistical tie. Plus, you've got the problem of people saying they are going to vote for Obama - the Democratic Candidate - and change their decision in the voting booth.

If Obama wins, nobody from the McCain camp will riot. However, if Obama and the Democratically-controlled Congress starts to pass Marxist-style policies, something will happen. What that is, I'm not exactly sure. If McCain wins, expect a number of riots from Obama supporters. Hopefully there won't be any deaths, but there probably will be.

I'm a Dem but for all of you who think this will be a blowout for Obama you are showing you immaturity and ignorance. I dont care what the polls say this will be a fight and it will be close. There is no easy cake walk for the first Black Presidential candidate. State polls are tightening as many thought they would, dont count your chickens yet.

I don't expect a shocker or a blowout. The shocker would be McCain winning, the blowout would be Obama winning by a landslide. I don't see either. I see Obama winning, narrowly.

IF McCain won, I wouldn't be completely shocked. I think there is a small group of people not showing up in polls, and I think the Bradley effect will have an effect with that group. I also know a lot of people who have decided last minute that they are going to vote just to keep Obama out of office, rather it be because he's black, too liberal, too socialist, whatever. He scares a lot of people, and in the home stretch, McCain/Palin are really driving home Obama's redistribution of wealth, and that's really not going over well with a lot of folks.

I do think if McCain wins, there will be riots in the streets. People basically are already declaring Obama the victor, and for him to lose would upset his legions of fans. An Obama victory will not cause a lot of uproar, because most McCain followers have felt defeated for months now.

No, I'll just sit here waiting four more years til I can vote for my real President. I guess I can live four years without a President.

Liberals want to take the country down a few notches? Give me a break! Some of us are voting out of hatred of the GOP and W, and Cheney, and Rumsefeld, Gonzalez, and every other fascist that has been in power for the past 8 years. but, also, we are voting for Obama to elevate people's hope because a black man will be in the White House. That will give many, many people hope and not just racial minorities but anyone who believes in the American dream.

Brain-dead liberals? Go vote against equal rights and start a lynch mob with your ignorant Republican peers.

wow...

So first, you believe in the fucking polls always, as if they are always right?

And god forbid there is any chance that the left has skewed the polls at all.

So if McCain wins you are going to take to the streets and riot, good please do so and get arrested. I am sure people like bikersailor will be there to give you some conjugal visits.

The Presidency is based upon the final votes, not some retarded poll from cnn/ny times or gallup.
