Sarah Palin Uses A Teleprompter

No, it's a PalinPrompter:

I was so tickled to see those crib notes on Sarah's palm. I can't tell you how many times I've done that when I have done public speaking--and I have done a LOT of public speaking--and there was a last minute point I needed to be sure to include or a specific date or a name I was afraid I wouldn't recall.
She couldn't remember one point?

Sure she could, but in the course of whatever speech that was, she certainly had many points to make and the palm note was one she thought of at the last minute and wanted to be sure to include at some point. All of us who do a lot of public speaking have been there.

Palin can speak ex tempore and without one. When you do long speeches, they become more necessary. I do think they should be banned, as they make the speeches too long and windy.

The difference between Palin and Obama in use of a Teleprompter is the difference between a bum who needs his bottle of night train to start his morning and someone who likes a glass of wine with dinner sometimes. The difference between dependency and enjoyment

Obama needs one absolutely everywhere. He probably needs one to say good morning to his wife.

And yet, when Obama faced of one man against the entire Republican Party over the healthcare debate he beat them like they were his step-children.

Remember the bastards were claiming "it's a setup?"

How DUMB must they be if they got defeated by such a person as you claim?

LOL!!!

Shrieking , blinking and winking Sarah Palin is living proof that murkins are the dumbest fucking people on the planet.
Anyone with a brain would just shake their head, walk away or change the channel. Not murkins.
Sarah !!!!!! OMG !!!! Sarah !
Fucking idiots.

Fox News has been hyping Sarah Palin’s appearance on the Fox News Sunday Show, as if she had the guts to do a Sunday panel show like the rest of the candidates will. But of course, Sarah Palin repeated already debunked right wing Pinocchios as fed to her by her teleprompter.

As I wrote in when I first revealed the Sarah Palin teleprompter dependency in December of 2010, “At a Tea Party speech, Ms Palin mocked the President by saying, “This is about the people, and it’s bigger than any one king or queen of a Tea Party, and it’s a lot bigger than any charismatic guy with a teleprompter.” You must fill in the requisite sneer for full effect. The implication is that the President is a moron for using a teleprompter. This is made clear by the Right’s gleeful picking up of this meme and running with it at every turn, especially when they have nothing relevant over which to criticize the President.

…(during an episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska) she was showing us her studio in the house she built next door to her home on Lake Lucille. Sarah and Todd were making a show of how it was just the two of them putting on her little show. And while she made cute and Todd told her her hair was above his pay grade, I saw the evil socialist machine staring me down, clear as day. So clear that I could read the logo. Yes, a teleprompter.”

Although every politician uses a TelePrompter at one point or another, you have to love the delicious irony of Palin using one after blasting Obama about it.

She was using a teleprompter a the RNC and somehow it failed. She never missed a beat. It appeared she was smarter then the Dems claimed she was.

I think she chided Obama for some of the events he used a teleprompter for, not that he used one. It seems he has to do extra prep not to use one, yet events where he only has to talk for a few mins he prefers not to use cue-cards or just wing it. One time he was at a dedication way out nowhere and many there felt it was amusing that he had to have all of those electronic devices in order to function. Anyone who's been at a speech where somebody used one gets the feeling the guy isn't talking to them. I was at a Bush speech once. He didn't use one then.

Bill Clinton could talk for hours without one, but Obama has this habit of putting his foot in his mouth and using a lot of "uuuuuuuuuuh"s, when he's not on one, which is distracting.

Often Obama seems to contradict himself, mainly because he is merely reading a script. He reads a statement, then gets in front of another crowd and contradicts himself. You see, I don't believe he knows the material he's talking about as well as his people would like him too. He's never been known to be a workaholic, and learning the speech takes time out of his golf outings.

They can write notes on their hand.
Called a palmaprompter.

Yes - and you're not qualified to be President, either.

You're right. I'm not. Never claimed to be. But I'm smart enough to recognize hateful, snarky, jealous, spiteful, and cruel sh*t launched at a person purely for speaking her convictions. Which puts me in pretty good company I think.

News Flash.

Barrack Obama is President of the United States.
Sarah Palin is just a citizen.

Maybe that is why so many oif you voted for him. You dont seem to hold your elected officials to a higher standard.

You are comparing one you refer to as a dolt..an idiot...a bimbo...to one you refer to as intelligent, charismatic, and special in all areas.

I find it quite humorous.

when you can control the dialogue so that you always have the last word...it tends to fool those that may be listening but are not smart enough to see the forest through the trees.

Seems you fall in that category.

wake me when there is a politician that doesn't use a teleprompter ever throughout the duration of their career.

she isn't even holding an office at the moment so i can't say she is a politician.

Why does anyone need a teleprompter at home?

Aside from that, I understand that news people and hosts of cable talk shows use teleprompters to read the news, and editorials, and recite facts and figures. But Palin doesn't host any news show. Furthermore, my understanding is that panelists, guests, and people who are interviewed do NOT use teleprompters. So, since Palin is supposedly an analyst who offers her opinions in response to questions that are asked of her, why does she need a teleprompter at home. I guess what I'm wondering is whether or not Palin is given the questions ahead of time by Fox News and is then allowed to prepare answers that are subsequently fed into a teleprompter.

You really don't know much about what she does do you. But your questions have already been asked and answered in this relatively short thread.

No they haven't. So, I'll ask again. What does Palin do at home that requires a teleprompter? Is she giving informal talks of prepared remarks which are later posted on YouTube?

Just tell me she's not being fed the questions by Fox News and then given an opportunity to prepare answers which she later reads while giving the impression that she's answering those questons in an ad hoc manner.

This woman could quote Mother Theresa word for word and they would find something to bitch about.

I don't care who uses a teleprompter. As long as the words that are on it are your own. On the political stage, we all have our assumptions as to who writes the scripts. But it seems to me that if I am the writer of the words I want to appear on the teleprompter, then I should be able to stay relatively close to topic without reading word for word. Some people can ad-lib and others can't. The biggest problem with that is there are a lot of politicians who think they can ad-lib, but in reality they can't ad-lib at all.

So if you have to rely on a teleprompter because you have no idea what you're talking about, then for the LOVE OF GOD, don't ad-lib.

That being said, I think both Palin and Obama know when it's safe to wander off into the deep end without a floating device.

OK...she's not being fed the questions by Fox News and then given an opportunity to prepare answers which she later reads while giving the impression that she's answering those questons in an ad hoc manner.

Is that better?

Do I know that for fact? No. But it answers the question.

Do we have not one person in this country who can multitask mentally and speak without some aides notes on a screen? It's not that difficult.

ALL, and I do mean ALL public figures who give scheduled formal public speeches, and ALL commentators, newscasters, and entertainers giving live monologues use some form of notes and, these days, most often use a teleprompter. The fact that Sarah Palin uses one for her television show makes her normal, not hypocitical. Nor is it unusual when she is the scheduled speaker to use a teleprompter. She did the night she was named Vice Preident candidate. It malfunctioned, remember? And she winged a lot of it and did great.

So yeah, not cool to gig somebody for using a teleprompter when you use one, but Sarah doesn't use one for random interviews, for just saying a few extemporaneous remarks, Sarah is an articulate and effective speaker with or without a teleprompter.

President Obama sounds like a shy, misinformed stuttering school boy when he doesn't have his teleprompter. Which is why he takes his teleprompter almost everywhere and so infrequently takes unscripted questions. Even his Vice President has teased him about it.

He works pretty hard not to have any more embarrassing performances like this one:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omHUsRTYFAU]YouTube - ‪Obama lost without a teleprompter‬‏[/ame]

Rush Limbaugh never uses a teleprompter or prepared notes or speeches.

There's nothing wrong with using a teleprompter. It's just a tool.

It's what one says that matters - as well as how one handles impromptu communication without a teleprompter.

Try Post #7 on Page 1. She does an hour-long weekly program on Alaska for The Learning Channel and she does use a teleprompter for her monologues for that.

Also in her role as commentator for Fox News--Fox uses a LOT of different people as commentators--she is not being interviewed as a politician but is asked to give her perspective on a certain subject. More often than not she is doing this live and nobody, and I do mean nobody, does that without notes. It is usually more efficient for the notes to be on a teleprompter than to have the person reading from hard copy, and the person can be more extemporaneous with a teleprompter than it is usually possible working from a hard copy. And yes, I am speaking from experience on that.

If that were all she was doing, nobody would give a crap.
