Fox News has been hyping Sarah Palin’s appearance on the Fox News Sunday Show, as if she had the guts to do a Sunday panel show like the rest of the candidates will. But of course, Sarah Palin repeated already debunked right wing Pinocchios as fed to her by her teleprompter.

As I wrote in when I first revealed the Sarah Palin teleprompter dependency in December of 2010, “At a Tea Party speech, Ms Palin mocked the President by saying, “This is about the people, and it’s bigger than any one king or queen of a Tea Party, and it’s a lot bigger than any charismatic guy with a teleprompter.” You must fill in the requisite sneer for full effect. The implication is that the President is a moron for using a teleprompter. This is made clear by the Right’s gleeful picking up of this meme and running with it at every turn, especially when they have nothing relevant over which to criticize the President.

…(during an episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska) she was showing us her studio in the house she built next door to her home on Lake Lucille. Sarah and Todd were making a show of how it was just the two of them putting on her little show. And while she made cute and Todd told her her hair was above his pay grade, I saw the evil socialist machine staring me down, clear as day. So clear that I could read the logo. Yes, a teleprompter.”

Although every politician uses a TelePrompter at one point or another, you have to love the delicious irony of Palin using one after blasting Obama about it.

Do we have not one person in this country who can multitask mentally and speak without some aides notes on a screen? It's not that difficult.

ALL, and I do mean ALL public figures who give scheduled formal public speeches, and ALL commentators, newscasters, and entertainers giving live monologues use some form of notes and, these days, most often use a teleprompter. The fact that Sarah Palin uses one for her television show makes her normal, not hypocitical. Nor is it unusual when she is the scheduled speaker to use a teleprompter. She did the night she was named Vice Preident candidate. It malfunctioned, remember? And she winged a lot of it and did great.

So yeah, not cool to gig somebody for using a teleprompter when you use one, but Sarah doesn't use one for random interviews, for just saying a few extemporaneous remarks, Sarah is an articulate and effective speaker with or without a teleprompter.

President Obama sounds like a shy, misinformed stuttering school boy when he doesn't have his teleprompter. Which is why he takes his teleprompter almost everywhere and so infrequently takes unscripted questions. Even his Vice President has teased him about it.

He works pretty hard not to have any more embarrassing performances like this one:

Palin was sure lost without her teleprompter when she discussed Paul Revere warning the British.

Obama should release his college records so he can show everyone just how smart he really is!

Ok so let me get this straight. Using a teleprompter when you are a nobody, that may run for president is bad. Using one all the time when you are the President. Is good. I get it now.

No, using one on occasions where it is necessary and appropriate, good.

Using someone's use of one to criticize them, while using one yourself, bad.

Its not so much if someone uses one. They're great.

The problem is when someone simply cannot talk without using one; such as Obama.

It was more rightist ridicule of ‘The Anointed One’ motif.

The 'Annointed One' motif applies at the irrational and never ending groveling and defensiveness from those who continue to worship him and support his every word, thought, and spoken idea.

The teleprompter jokes/ridicule came into play when it was obvious that our President cannot speak extemporaneously with any coherance or competence on many subjects unless he has a teleprompter guiding what he says.

Sarah Palin is as capable of misspeak, error, and gaffes as anybody else who is in the public eye for hours and hours every week. Certainly George W. Bush committed his share of joke material too. But both can and do speak extemporaneously quite well.

Obama usually can't.

Palin can speak ex tempore and without one. When you do long speeches, they become more necessary. I do think they should be banned, as they make the speeches too long and windy.

The difference between Palin and Obama in use of a Teleprompter is the difference between a bum who needs his bottle of night train to start his morning and someone who likes a glass of wine with dinner sometimes. The difference between dependency and enjoyment

Obama needs one absolutely everywhere. He probably needs one to say good morning to his wife.

They can write notes on their hand.
Called a palmaprompter.

No, it's a PalinPrompter:

I was so tickled to see those crib notes on Sarah's palm. I can't tell you how many times I've done that when I have done public speaking--and I have done a LOT of public speaking--and there was a last minute point I needed to be sure to include or a specific date or a name I was afraid I wouldn't recall.

She couldn't remember one point?
