I've heard network news trying to make more of Issac/Tampa than was justified, but the NHC only made predictions based on computer models.
I've been watching rather carefully, considering that a couple of days ago I was in line with predicted land fall.

I lived in FLA from 75-80. Flew airplanes. Made a few runs to and from Colombia. Flew into Tampon Bay many times. Haven't seen it lately but back in the 70's it was a stinking shithole. Seems the Tamponese never heard of sewage systems.

True. At one point it looked like the storm would brush the west coast of Florida but not be a direct hit. Only a storm surge would have done any damage to Tampa.
