Romney had it right..so of course the Dems call foul!

What's laughable is that at a time when unemployment is still over 8%...our national debt is at 16 trillion and exploding...the economy is grinding along at a 1 to 2% yearly rate...and they are burning American flags in the streets all over the world...that the Main Stream Media finds THIS to be newsworthy...something that Mitt Romney said months ago. Something that was fed to them by the Obama camp.

Put aside the fact that Romney is for the most part correct in his assessment that so many Americans ARE now dependent on the government and are becoming increasingly willing to vote for whoever promises them MORE entitlements no matter our fiscal situation and that the Democratic Party is who has been doing most of that promising. What this shows me is that Mitt Romney is not only battling Obama for the White House...he's battling against a Main Stream Media who got Barack Obama elected back in 2008 over the much more qualified Hilary Clinton or John McCain and now are doubling down to get a President reelected who has been completely overwhelmed by the job he's held for the past four years.

So Mitt Romney thinks we're becoming an "entitlement nation"! How can any rational person really disagree with that assessment?

See the problem here is not the facts. The problem comes in when Romney says "it's not my job to worry about those people" News flash Mr. Romney.... It most certainly is your job to worry about those people. There are plenty of Republicans that work every day and pay no taxes and that receive some sort of government help. It's not just "Them"

I'm sure you said the same thing a few months ago when Obama wrote off a large portion of the population as well right?

It is foolish for Romney to assume everyone he is talking about is an Obama supporter, laughable really.

Leftist liars will assert that the very fact that the gap is closing is EVIDENCE that Romney has no hope!

Watch and see if they don't.

I think either Pelosi or Wasserman-Schultz will say words almost exactly to that effect, and soon.

This reminds me of 1984 all over again. When Regan swept but all the headlines and reports were trying to paint another picture leading up to the election.

From the election forum but appropriate here as well.

An Undecided Swing Voter

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Why on earth did Obama for America not show the video to its email subscribers? Why didn’t they even link to it, if it was so horrible? – And before you wonder: go to their donation page link, and it won’t show up there, either."

"The answer? …Well, you just watched the video yourself, so you know the answer: the video is only horrible to Democratic base voters. Show it to an undecided swing voter, and there’s far too high a chance that he or she will pretty much agree with the sentiment. Which is something that Mitt Romney knows very well, which is why he smilingly encouraged the people who published the clip to publish the whole video. And it’s also something that Jim Messina knows very well; which is why he deliberately didn’t make the video easy to see and held off on the usual begging for five bucks that stereotypically infests Obama campaign ads. Bottom line: Obama for America is not going to use this incident to get more swing voters, although they certainly won’t mind if that happens (it won’t). What they’re apparently going to use this incident for is to shore up their own base."

Romney's fixers won't be able to fix this mess, his goose is cooked....

Was he correct or not?

Tell me, do the following have any impact on your thinking?

1. The desire for equality of income or of wealth is, of course, but one aspect of a more general desire for equality. “The essence of the moral idea of socialism is that human equality is the supreme value in life.”
Martin Malia, “A Fatal Logic,” The National Interest, Spring 1993, pp. 80, 87

2. Sociologist Helmut Schoeck’s observation: “Since the end of the Second World War, however, a new ‘ethic’ has come into being, according to which the envious man is perfectly acceptable. Progressively fewer individuals and groups are ashamed of their envy, but instead make out that its existence in their temperaments axiomatically proves the existence of ‘social injustice,’ which must be eliminated for their benefit.”
Helmut Schoeck, “Envy: A Theory of Social Behavior,” p. 179

He'd better hope he wasn't. If it's true that the 47% who don't pay income taxes won't vote for him, when you add the Obama supporters who do pay taxes, it looks like his campaign is a lost cause. :D

Crisis, what crisis? Gallup poll shows Mitt Romney CLOSING to just one point behind Barack Obama

Gallup poll shows Mitt Romney CLOSING to just one point behind Barack Obama | Mail Online

And of course, Gallup continues to pathetically oversample Democrats.

Romney is kicking his commie ass.

That poll was done before the video was released yesterday, looking forward to the next one!

Only you Obama sheeple are outraged about Romney pointing out the entitlement mentality of Obama sheeple.

The other 53% of us agree whole-heartedly with Romney.

LOL, many of the 53% are Obama supporters, making Romney's election a pipe dream at best.

I guess that comes down to how much of the 47% are only on government assistance because this Administration has done so little to deal with a lack of jobs in the Private Sector? If I'm on food stamps because I can't get a job that I desperately want and need them to feed my family then who am I going to vote for...the guy that hasn't done anything to help me find a job because I'm not in a union or work for the government....or the guy that promises he WILL help people like me get back to work? What you progressives fail to take into account is that for MANY people who are on food stamps and unemployment, what they want more then any handout is to be back working again. What reason would someone like THAT have to vote for Barack Obama?

Mitt Romney promised, so it's obviously going to happen.

The funny thing being that the majority of the people Romney referred to live in the states that are the staunchest red...

Ignoring the fact that their precious dictator's failed policies in the Middle East are killing people by the gross.

"According to the Census Bureau, 49% of Americans in the second quarter of 2011 lived in a household where at least one member received a government benefit. (The total population at the time was 305 million).
That’s up from 30% in the 1980s and 44.4% in the third quarter of 2008, a recent growth in part attributable to the bad economy of President Obama’s first term."

The Data Behind Romney’s 47% Comments - Washington Wire - WSJ

Notice how the number is 45% early in the recession? The rise is due to increasing numbers of seniors using Medicare.

Talk about dishonest. For those reading, she wants you to think these are quotes from liberals. I'm not familiar with the second author, but the first one is a clip from right-wing publication. Would be just as dishonest as quoting someone at The Nation saying conservatives are brutish as evidence that they are.
