I have been told that more votes were cast for Democrats than Republicans in the last election. If so, this is not a good prognosis for the GOP.
Dear jwoodie what WOULD be good
is for the parties to separate their BELIEFS from public policy,
and agree to QUIT using the legal, legislative or media process
to organize more opposition to fight each other.
Those resources are better invested in developing
programs supported by their own members
instead of trying to derail each other.
If whole parties of Hindus and Muslims, or Catholics and Protestants
spent billions of dollars trying to get majority control of legislatures so they
could pass THEIR policies THEY believe in, we'd call them out on
"separating religious policies from govt."
But with political beliefs, we don't seem to recognize these equally as religious beliefs.
We have been letting people and parties "bully" each other by coercion or exclusion,
when we would not let people do this with other beliefs RECOGNIZED as religious differences.
