Republican strategist not thrilled with Trump

....not every "conservative" idea is great...not every liberal idea is great....
I agree completely, but that notion simply isn't consistent with what conservatives have been saying for decades now. Suddenly with Trump, they're willing to bend on the issues ("conservative ideals") because they like his style or his overall approach.

So all of a sudden "conservative ideals" have taken a back seat with this guy.
.
That is exactly the problem. Part of it is conservatives have failed to sell a coherent conservative philosophy. Part of it is the dumbing down of the electorate to where the presidential elections are merely an extension of Dancig with the Stars.
As I say I hope people find sanity and dump this loser.

yeah, and we said that about Obama and that didn't happen either. Who knows who his supporters are? Myself I think they are a mixture of people who is sick and tired of the same ole same ole. Tell you one thing then stabs you in the back, look at them running around whining like children because some Businessman can come in and Trample over them, instead of wondering why that is and try to change themselves. but no, now people are getting beat down from both parties on how they are supporting this loser, hope they wake up before it's too late, and blaa blaa bla. that's the crap we hear all the time from the Democrats. I don't think people are taking kindly to you people and your ugly whining about them. We had to live with Obama. so if some how Trump pulls it off, I think I can live with it a hell of lot better than any of these Democrats

Let me make this real simple. Whats happening is that the American people are sending a message that the Republican establishment can go fuck themselves. That is it in a nutshell. It's nothing more than a great big "fuck you". All these pundits trying to spin it some other way are scared because they are witnessing the death knell of the Republican establishment.

Republican strategist Rick Wilson certainly doesn't like what he's seeing in the GOP, and I'd be curious to see what conservatives here think about this piece:

How the Tea Party Got Hijacked by Trump’s Troll Party

From it:

Today the Republican Party has two choices before it: It can either reform itself, or fracture and surrender to the Troll Party.

Let me explain what I mean. The Troll Party’s central characteristic is an ever tightening spiral of self-reinforcing and self-referential purity tests that makes communicating with anyone beyond the febrile and furious a nearly impossible task. The people pushing for this transformation aren’t a majority yet, but when a virus infects the body politic, its minuscule size belies its massive impact.

That’s what is happening inside the GOP, and why the disease vector, in the form of Donald Trump, puts the entire conservative movement at risk of being hijacked and destroyed by a bellowing billionaire with poor impulse control and a profoundly superficial understanding of the world. The Troll Party puts nationalist, anti-establishment bluster before the tenets of our constitutional republic.

So who comprises the Troll Party? Some of them are a distaff faction of the Tea Party, angry that the leadership in Washington doesn’t pursue their agenda with the bloody-mindedness and tempo they demand. Many are angry that the GOP lost to Barack Obama twice and, in their minds, allowed through action or inaction a set of economic, social, and cultural changes that make them feel powerless. For them, supporting Trump feels like rebellion. They crave a sense of agency in the face of a political culture in D.C. that they believe loathes and disregards them.

Thoughts?
.

This is a commentary by the very professional political hack that more and more Americans are rising up against. He knows it all and belittles anyone who doesn't agree with his establishment beliefs.

Donald Trump is simply heralding what so many of us believe and want.

I don't need you to make anything "simple", ace...dunno who you think you are...

I agree that the gop is in turmoil because the career politicians are under very close scrutiny and are in danger of being held accountable ....the other party and the dishonest media are getting caught up in the "accountability" crossfire too and that is also a good thing..

No the career politicians are not under close scrutiny or in danger of being held accountable. That ship has sailed boss. American's are at the "GET THE FUCK OUT" stage. Career Politicians in the GOP stand no chance. It's over for them. Done. Kapupt. They'll just burn through their donors money and meet a fateful end.

Sorry..didn't even read the article...

The author calling trump supporters a "troll party" in the TITLE reveals his bias and ....to me anyway...disqualifies the rest as political propaganda...

the left thrives on name calling and labeling people...
And this is typical of the closed mindedness that's damaging the GOP.

I recognized it as propaganda immediately...I am "closed minded" to propaganda.

"Not thrilled"? Is that what passes for political analysis in the leftie mind? I expect that democrats aren't "thrilled" with Sanders socialist hijacking of the campaign or the blunders and possible indictment of Bill Clinton's wife or the possibility of he V.P. entering the race when he can't put a sentence together without sticking his foot in his mouth.

they don't know who the hell is supporting Trump for one reason is, he's a new person out in the mix of all the career Politicians. Yeah he's running as a Republican. You know it's too bad he's not running as a Democrat. You think you would see that garbage like that article from the beast losers?

but here's the Dailygarbage claiming that it's somehow the Tea party . they haven't had a chance to run them down yet so here they go. that's just some ugly nasty stuff for a site calling itself the, dailybeast.

All my life, the Republican Party has been my political home. Helping it succeed has been my work for decades. It was never perfect, but families never are.

No one expects perfection, but there are some real simple principles, and the GOP has allowed RINO's to undermine every single one.

Flawed, and given to wrong turns from time to time,

From time to time? When was the last RIGHT turn?

we had good years and terrible years. We elected presidents, took back Congress after decades, lost it,

Because you acted like democrooks, just not as drunk.

and took it back again. Our leaders ranged from bad to extraordinary.

Reagan was the best, but he want't extraordinary, he still allowed regressive policies to get past him. How Ted Kennedy for instance got away with murder, and treason can not be explained.

But through it all, the GOP was the one party even vaguely amenable to limited-government conservatism,

Being "vaguely amenable" to your principles is how you get democrooks elected. If there's no real difference, there's no reason to vote for you.

to at least some adherence to the Constitution over the social preferences of the moment, and to the constraints on government power that our Founding Fathers so cherished. It was nice while it lasted.

While what lasted? The GOP has allowed the democrooks to undermine every part of the COTUS, and undermined the rest by itself.

Today the Republican Party has two choices before it: It can either reform itself, or fracture and surrender to the Troll Party.

Oh... this ought to be brilliant...

Let me explain what I mean. The Troll Party’s central characteristic is an ever tightening spiral of self-reinforcing and self-referential purity tests that makes communicating with anyone beyond the febrile and furious a nearly impossible task.

Complete bullshit. Standing up for your principles and not shrinking back from foaming at the mouth moonbats is how you win the argument. Running away or sniveling in apologies just because they call you a racist is how you lose.

The people pushing for this transformation aren’t a majority yet, but when a virus infects the body politic, its minuscule size belies its massive impact.

The people pushing for this are sick of losing their freedom, their culture and their economic well being to RINO douchebags who allow bed wetting liberals to advance their agenda.

I'm under no illusion that Trump is a conservative, and I doubt too many conservatives are fooled either. However Trump is kicking the shit out of these nancy-boy republicrats and the butch dyke democrooks. He is pissing people off...

GREAT!!! It's about time someone told these La Raza fucksticks that we're sick of their reconquista bullshit and want them to get the fuck out of here and if we need to start deporting multiple illegal entrants by catapult I'm all for it.

Thank you Pet7469 for an excellent post.

You're welcome. MAC1958 is not a bad dude, but he and some of the other "moderate" but still sensible folks need to understand what is happening. The rest of the GOP establishment needs to start considering new careers.

BRAVO.:clap2:

nobody I know is fooled that Trump is a conservative. But that's the kind of nasty that we get from the left. condescending and ugly. the fools are them if they are still pulling for that corrupted old lady Clinton. so they have a need to always PROJECT onto others what they actually are. they need to worry about their all white Fogies circus act. Hillary can't draw people in, Bernie might croak before elections and that leaves them what?

This is pretty smart. By which I mean she mostly agrees with me.

The whole article is worth reading. Much of it is explaining the failure of the Establishment Candidates.

Ann Coulter - September 16, 2015 - DONALD TRUMP: THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO LIKE HIM ARE THE VOTERS

"Today, the fight in the Republican Party isn't over abortion, guns or the Sandinistas; the dividing line is immigration. Will wecontinue to be the United States
ir
, or will we become another failed Latin American state?

On this, it's Donald Trump (and the people) vs. everyone else.

Trump announced his presidential campaign by talking about Mexican rapists
ir
. Immigration is the only policy paper he's put out so far -- and he's been crushing the polls. He got his one sustained standing ovation from 20,000 cheering fans in Dallas Monday night when he talked about stopping illegal immigration. "

But James B. Stewart gasses on in The New York Times about Trump's "namecalling, personal attacks and one-liners that have vaulted him to the top of the polls." In the entire article, Stewart never mentions immigration.

Perhaps some minority of people will vote for Trump because of his personality. But I notice that it's his position on immigration that gets thousands of people leaping to their feet.

The media will talk about anything but Trump's specific, detailed policies on immigration -- all while claiming he doesn't have any "policy details." The very fact that the entire media -- including most of the conservative commentariat -- obdurately refuse to acknowledge the popularity of Trump's immigration plans is exactly why Trump is exploding in the polls.

Trump isn't trying to imitate anyone. He's leading on the seminal issue of our time while the rest of the field practices looking optimistic in front of the mirror."
