Republican Ideology through History

Addendum to above

Republicans again, like spoiled children, threaten a government shutdown if they don't get their way

Republicans continue to exhibit Obama derangement syndrome, cure unknown
Speaker Boehner proves to be the weakest speaker in America's history
Republicans all repeat the same talking point like puppets
House republicans vote again and again and again to repeal the ACA, now the law of the land
Republicans shutdown government, refusing to compromise and govern
Government shutdown primarily hurts children and the needy
Republicans didn't get their way so they refuse again to support the government that is ironically still paying them
Obamacare is flooded with requests its first days
The Tea party, a radical third party, controls the Speaker and all republicans
Shutdown has no effect on the implementation of the ACA
Real consequences are forgotten as ideology rather than concern for America now control the republican party
The republican party should be renamed the Puppet party as they all repeat the same talking points
Republicans in the house laugh at a shutdown they caused that is hurting America's children
Today the republican party has become a real threat to the stability of the American republic.

It is hard to describe the republican party today, its leaders are ideologues, talking heads, and a fringe made up of conspiratorial nutcases. There is no other way to describe them fairly. They persist in a litany of stupid remarks heard almost daily from elected officials which makes the 'witch candidate' and the 'VP candidate who read nothing' look normal if not regular. They get their soapbox on Fox where the last election proved clearly these people know nothing about America. And yet this is the base, a base heard online in a daily spewing of hatred for our democratically elected president. Just yesterday a former chairman of the republican party wondered why these stupid remarks persist and questioned why the few sane republicans don't speak up. I guess when the hardcore base shouts you down, there is no reason to even try to repair the GOP. Only the voters can repair the party but it seems gerrymandering has created a unsolvable problem when the candidates and elected republicans are of the same timber as the crazies.

Yep, it is all the Republicans fault.

HEY LOOK EVERYONE SPAMMED KOOL-AID...

My study of history stands till someone can give an alternate view of republicans in which they accomplish something positive in the last 110 years. Watching the tea party radicals control them today is kinda interesting as it used to be business and big money controlled them. Of course business has financed and helped create the tea party. I wonder though if business regrets this monster they helped make?

Wow that's a very impressive list of talking points.

Thanks. Talking points as history is a modern phenom. Hopefully you learned something.

"Sarah Palin finally got her death panels — a direct blow from the Republican House. In shutting down the government, leaving 800,000 people without a paycheck and draining the economy of $300 million a day, the Party of Madness also took away last-chance cancer trials for children at the National Institutes of Health."

"This week’s Quinnipiac Poll found 72 percent of Americans opposed to shutting down the government to halt the Affordable Care Act. When asked to pick a party in a generic Congressional matchup, those surveyed chose Democrats over Republicans, 43 percent to 34 — the widest measure in recent polling." http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/10/03/wrong-side-of-history/

I learned you have a partisan slanted one sided view of history and that you can ramble on for a very long time and still manage to say nothing of revelance.

Often if we are skeptical enough we question whether we are on the right track about any number of issues. Seeing the piece linked below and other recent news, I have to say yep, I got this one right.

"For the past 64 years, since Harry Truman was first elected to the White House, Democrat presidents have presided over stronger economies than their GOP counterparts — by almost any measure of economic health.

It’s not just GDP, which Making Sen$e has shown is not always the most reliable of economic indicators. Under Democratic presidents, per capita GDP has been higher; job creation has been stronger; decreases in unemployment have been greater; the S&P 500 stock index has been higher; corporate profits have been bigger; and real wages and labor productivity have increased." It would seem that republicans with corporate support are still fighting Franklin Roosevelt's accomplishments and the freedoms given all by Lyndon Baines Johnson? President Obama is finally on the attack, recognizing when politics is only about power and money, and not about America, compromise is impossible.

One at a time, in no order

FDR rescues the nation from Great Depression, creates job programs...

What year did that happen?

3 years into the FDR Depression, "unemployment falls to 16.9 percent" that's a "rescue"?

Hard times according to those who lived through it, but consider the failure of Reagan, Clinton and Bush Jr in 07, 08 and 09 only took a few years to fix. Guess they learned something huh? FDR administrations's work helped lots you gotta admit.

Got proof? Or opinion!:Boom2:

The reason the Twelve year Great Depression lasted as long as it did was because of FDR and his policies. The members of his "Brain Trust" made a special, "under the radar" trip to the Soviet Union in 1927, which included a special one on one conversation with Joseph Stalin. Needless to say, they were deeply impressed by the "Soviet Miracle" they were shown. When they were suddenly thrust into power some six years later they tried to empress those parts of the "Soviet Miracle" down onto the American Economic System. The result was the formation of collective farms across the American Southwest, the bankrupting of the Wendell Wilkie run Southern Company eletric utility, and of course the trial of the Schechter Brothers, immigrant wholesale Kosher butchers from Brooklyn for of all things, violating New Deal Regulations by letting their customers pick out which chickens they wanted slaughtered. Then there was the 1937 Undistributed Profits Tax which precipitated the "Little Recession Inside The Great Depression". Roosevelt boasted to the people about his not intending to stop experimenting with the American Economy until things began to improve. As a result business stopped expanding, stopped spending, stopped developing new products and simply sat by waiting to see which segment of the economy Roosevelt would destroy next.

We are seeing exactly the same things happen today, Open your eyes, take whatever you're.....

Wow.

The talent wasted to appease vanity...
"talent"?

As to the OP, Republican ideology has run it's course. Even repub-party voters are anti-education. "Republican" is just a label w/o any substance now except for the 1%'ers lurking in the b/g who benefit from The GObP's slash & burn tactics once let loose in D.C.

FDR was inaugerated in March, 1933. He gave people jobs and welfare, saved them from homelessness and starvation. There was no money left to work with after 3 years of Hoover bs- thank god THIS time Obama got in quickly to save us from the worst effects of the Booosh corrupt meltdown. Only cost 4-5 trillion...
