I really don't like Rachel Maddow... She's pretty much the exact same thing that you would see from damn near every other Fox commentator. She doesn't do news... She does opinion pieces.

That's the whole point. It is something.

You are pointing out it was some sort of medical treatment. You're not the only one, Romney has said that too.

But instead of some sort of Medical deduction..this is a business expense.

The IRS is not some powerful branch of government that is fully funded and ready to swoop in on violaters as needed. It's a very over worked and under paid weak government entity. They seldom do audits and work on the "honor" system. There are billions of dollars in unpaid taxes that have never even been tried at collecting. Why? The IRS simply does not have the resources.

Which..is in some small part..why Presidential candidates release their tax returns. Part of it is to show that the candidate faithfully pays their taxes. Not Romney..he's used every tax scheme in the book to avoid paying. And that's with being (or close to being) a billionaire.

Which means that he will either continue to foster a tax system that give breaks to folks like him or modify it..to give more breaks to folks like him.

No kidding, make it simpler, hell go with a flat tax no deductions......eliminates all these issues. I do believe it is for her MS though, I have no idea on the tax deductions, but this is really a stupid issue....I dont see any of the liberals on this, bitching because Kerry docks his boat in Rhode Isand to AVOID taxes he ADVOCATES....a little honesty would be refreshing......

I really, really dislike Kerry, but since when is a person required to harbor their yacht in the state of residency? I don't know if Harry Reid has one, but if he does, is he required to hire a semi to haul his yacht back to Nevada after each use just so he is on the up and up with Nevada taxes.

AND avoiding paying taxes using legal means is neither criminal nor immoral. I used to do it everytime I contributed to my IRA or 401(k), everytime I made a contribution to my church and then itemized my deductions taking the charitable contribution deduction, I avoided paying taxes. In this case, Senator Kerry does not appear to have done anything immoral, hypocritical or unethical.

Recall that during the health care debate she targeted anyone who got in the way. Joe Lieberman wasn't going to vote for closure....she ran a week (one week) of focused shows on Joe and his wife.

When Bart Stupack got in the way, she ran shows on him for a week.

These were democrats.

Then she ran a TV ad that said she had no agenda. I laughed my ass off when I saw it. It got pulled in about 24 hours.

kerry BOUGHT his boat in Rhode Island, it was manufactured in Rhode Island, and docked his boat where he bought it and near or with the yacht maker/with maintenance right at his fingertips.

I Agree....he is avoiding taxes that massachusetts would have on it if he docked it in massachusetts... but why would he want to move his yacht up to Boston, where he lives when Newport Rhode Island is a terrific spot to park it! It's perfect! You can get to long island, Nantucket and Martha's vinyard in a hop skip and a jump verses having it parked on the Ocean in Boston, where he resides. From Boston to Providence or Newport is about an hours drive....by boat, it would be 3-4 hours.

As much as I hate using huffpuff, they say Kerry's yacht was built in New Zealand. I have been to New Zealand several time as well as Rhode Island, and they are not even close to each other.
