He didn't make a mistake, and he knew what he was doing. He's minimalizing Nazi involvement because he approves of what the Nazis did in Poland.

The Nazis had a tremendous propaganda machine at work in Poland, prior to the death camps. They enlisted the support of the Polish people in their own genocide, by embarking on a campaign to get them to abort their own children. This was just before they went ahead and started sterilizing and forcibly aborting them.

Using propaganda, *science* and *education* the Nazis encouraged Polish women to get abortions, with the objective of making them willing participants in their own genocide, and to free them up for work.

Obama approves of what happened in Poland. He's going to do what he can to make such campaigns look normal and good, because that's what he wants here. And to do that, it's important to remove the stigma and make it appear that they willingly participated in it.

The Poles were avid players in the Holocaust, helping round up and kill many Jews. This is an uncomfortable fact for a nation that has tried to play the victim card. So when Obama gaffes on this he is actually telling the truth. But it is an inconvenient truth diplomatically speaking.

He's minimalizing Nazi involvement because he approves of what the Nazis did in Poland.. . . Obama approves of what happened in Poland.
