Please welcome new Moderators and farewell to another

Emily I know is good, Kat doesn't ring a bell.

Thanks william the wie
Kat leans conservative but remains centrist and very inclusive not coercive.
She and I agree on core key principles and points, while I go way overboard to
include objections from the far right and far left in the equation. She is one
who will tolerate my insistence on equal inclusion and try to work with me on what I'm trying to do there
so it doesn't compromise the principles we agree on.
If she can work with me, she can work with anyone on far right and far left that I strive to include
(and try to prevent them from shooting themselves in the foot which the extremes tend to do out of frustration).

I found out Kat has owned and managed boards before.
So if anything, she would be mentoring me.
(and preventing me from going overboard.
I can certainly provide plenty of "overkill" if that service is ever called for,
but don't want to go there as a Mod. As Emily posting as a member,
when speaking for myself, I may still go into long msgs but that's just me.)

CORRECT + COMPLETE + CONCISE

:woohoo:

Kat and emilynghiem have graciously consented to joint our team as moderators (I know, crazy right? But we don't want to scare them away)

And, AngelsNDemons will be trading in her mod garb for a civilian life. We're going to miss her :smiliehug:- but I understand the dash for freedom desire for change.

This picture above shows emilynghiem in careful consultation with her personal library, this in anticipation that she might have to merge her first threads very soon, Emily always chooses the correct words and she knows now how crucial the correct words are in the Red Writing.

The umbrella is due to Emily's attic library collapsing the North section of the ceiling, this due to her having stored every edition of the Encyclopædia Britannica going right back to it's prized first published edition in 1768, not a good idea to store 7,410 volumes in the attic without reinforced flooring :smoke:

Wow Lucy Hamilton
Your intuition is remarkable.
I DO consider people to be like volumes in a huge library to be sorted out.
Each person contains tons of information, but sometimes we only need
one key idea or insight and then we get the bigger picture.
I don't need to cite the entire book, if I can just point someone to the
reference or link, and they can dig up all the info they need from there.

So y es it is like a huge library of info that needs to be indexed.

If we do this right, we can just send people links back and forth
to the relevant information. NO need to argue over the sources,
just look at the ideas and get the point, who cares what book or group
it came out of. If it works, use it!

Exactly. I depend on people like encyclopedia volumes to hold all that
information I can't carry with me all the time...

Perfect analogy, Thanks!

I agree and this is why Emily that you are an excellent choice

So, does this mean that if I get a warning from Emily, it will take me an hour to read it?

It's a whole new way to get put on "slowdown".

And btw I already made that joke. Now I'm gonna hafta have Emily lecture you on plagiarism. That'll teach ya.

Within the boundaries of the rules of course! :eusa_naughty:
Of course...and?

And what? There is no "and."

Oh well, maybe we will be able to find some common ground in our politics. :) Even though I don't think you were a very good mod, I wish you the best of luck!
Maybe...I do agree with most of your politics. And, thank you. :)

"Maybe...I do agree with most of your politics. And, thank you. :)"

Darling I don't know what your politics are, but if you agree with most of ChrisL's politics then you are okay, at least you're not a Commie like....like....like....um....Coyote :omg: :eusa_doh::eek-52: :scared1:

Hi Lucy Hamilton
Hey Coyote is the one who nudged me to try this new Mod role.
I would not have thought I could go there and still not sure.
Inclusion and defense of liberal interests does not have to mean commie'ism.
The RW can also get so hardedged that it starts to exclude and dominate by bullying also.

You see when the Left start the bullying domination, but most of that
is fear based after the RW scares them into defense mode and then going on the offense to protect their interests.

This isn't the place to discuss this bigger issue of where liberalism
does get socialistic, and when it becomes communism, or where
it becomes more like the green progressive independent "coops"
systems *outside* of govt and corporate lobbies/monopolies playing
"unfair competition" games. The independent green/progressives
are more in line with independent libertarian and conservatives
who want people to be in charge of their own businesses and programs not govt!

LH we can start a new thread for that. and maybe Coyote
and me can address the difference between progressive prochoice liberals and commies.

I'd like to note again that Emily is one of the seemingly-few here who understands what the word "Liberal" actually means.

Thanks Lucy Hamilton
It's not that I'm unbiased, but once I know my biases,
I try to include everyone else's equally to balance each other.
So I strive to be equally biased TOWARD including everyone.
If I can't represent a bias that is foreign to me, that's why I'd insist on
including someone who CAN represent that thing so it isn't left out.

It is like the library you posted.
Now, if we can just get the dewey decimal system
to index the entire internet, and get rid of the fake finance and wrinkle cream spam ads,
we just might be able to find things on there...

"lecture"

No lectures from you :meow: :lalala:

I can get longwinded. No one needs to tell me that, I'm aware of it.

Then I read one of Emily's posts and I feel better. :scared1:

Thanks Pogo but you give me TOO much credit.
I know what I believe about the liberal and Democratic objectives.

I don't get why other liberals and Democrats run right over their own
principles and party members for power, and I think that is what you are calling the LEFT.

I'm trying my darndest to figure this out also, and no I don't think I'm succeeding.
If you want to help, I offered to LH to start a thread to sort out
what is socialistic liberal agenda and what is communist socialism in govt
and maybe that will, in the process, clarify what you were saying about
liberal being different from leftist?

Is one the overal ideology and the other what happens when parties push agenda through govt?
Pogo do you want to start the thread or I can "try" to keep it simple in the OP before it expands into
very detailed diverse discussion...

I could certainly contribute to that distinction discussion, sure. Obviously not here.
Timing may be problematic at the moment. I'm supposedly getting ready for a bidness trip. But sooner or later, yeah let's do it.

And yes, that's basically accurate as to what I call the 'left'. We'll develop this another time another place.
