I know how the Zionists on this board LOVE to see old pictures and films of Eretz Israel before they got there to mess it up, so I wanted to post a few more I found. Note the still images go back as far as 1837, and the earliest film to 1896.

Palestine in 1837:

Palestine in 1896:

1920s - 1930s still images:

A Voice from Palestine, lots of facts and figures:

Palestine Before 1948:

Palestine Before and After Ethnic Cleansing:

And just to be even handed, I have got to post some very early ZIONIST films, too. These also clearly show Palestine as it was in the days before any rational Z could deny the indigenous Arab presence, even though their purpose is to encourage Jewish immigration. I also love these films and just wish we could turn back the clock:

The Speilberg "first film" 1911:

Aenmity dear----how do you know who the people in the pictures are and
what is your point in showing a bunch of clay pots? How do you
know to whom those houses belonged? In the 1800s Palestine
was part of the OTTOMAN EMPIRE The Zionist project that led
to the establishment of present day Israel started in the EARLY
1800s The clay pots you have pictured were standards
for everyone over there----in fact, in the shariah cesspit
in which my hubby was born it was the jews who made them.

Long ago---when I read islamo Nazi propaganda-----there were
lots of PICTURES-----I was very young----One that I remembered
was of a bunch of tattered people in a BARBED WIRE enclosure---
the picture was done in the 1950s The place looked like a concentration
camp------it was GAZA " ISRAEL KEEPs US HERE" -----I was about nine or 10---
I said "Ma---they have concentration camps in Israel" she looked
at the picture and said "gaza is in Egypt" -----now try to focus---that
was before 1967 Gaza is not a hopeless place----in history it
was a THRIVING CENTER of cotton production ----life was good----
the economy was good-----agriculture was good----uhm---btw
GAUZE is named for gaza------but you know that -----anyone who hears
Hebrew spoken knows that---you heard it for YEARS

irosie, dear, I am so glad I actually read this post.

Because, dear, the Zionist project did NOT start in the early 1800s. There was minimal Jewish immigration throughout history, in fact, but modern Zionism did not start until late 19th century, and immigration did not become a factor until early 20th century. If you believe otherwise we need some sources and figures to forestall dismissing your claims as transparent crackpottery at best.

SOME of these folks in Jerusalem are Armenian (and identified as such in the film), some are Jewish (and I assume you realize there weren't actually Turks settled in Palestine, I hope a not unwarranted assumption), but the people and buildings in the countryside? sorry, they are just plain indisputable Palestinian Arab. The Jewish population of Palestine as that time was, as the film states, less than 5% and all were in Jerusalem until later in 20th century.

We know who these people are, as I explained before, because there was virtually NO Jewish presence outside Jerusalem until 20th century. And when Jews did arrive from Europe, and when there were enough of them that they did at last start building, they built European style buildings, and those large, sprawling and densely populated villages are built up with buildings that are about as 100% Arab as they come. Even in the Zionist films, the buildings are almost exclusively Arab built; the Zionist presence is TINY in 1911-1913. And I take it for granted a person of your high intellectual achievement can tell that. And some, and in fact most, of the portraits of individuals have NAMES associated with them. Many were taken by the American colony photographers in Jerusalem.

As usual, your rantings about Gaza are waaay off topic (1950s??) and I am unclear about what your point is, but of course, the "Israel keeps us here" signs were entirely accurate. During that period when Israel was putting out red alerts that they did not have enough population, they were denying Palestinians the right to return. Most of those in Gaza were, and are, Palestinians from elsewhere in southern Palestine .... refugees.

And yes, absolutely, the clay pots were standard for everyone "over there," but not for Europeans. Jews may well have made those very pots (although in Palestine it would be unlikely), but we can guarantee you Zionists did NOT make them. I'll bet hubby even spoke Arabic, probably before he spoke Hebrew, sahih?

All it proves is that

1) It was a beautiful country, which we all ought to be able to agree on.
2) Palestinians are the indigenous people.

Other than that, can't think of any "proof" these films offer, but that's not why I posted them. Like I said, if you really relate to the land, you GOTTA love these old films. Aw, c'mon, at least love the Zionist films.

You are so disgustingly hateful, and I have never said anything similar about Jews or even Israelis, so I hope everyone who is paying attention to what we each are respectively. You know ... hate is a major factor in early heart disease and cancer.

So OK, hater, so considering Herzl published der Judenstaat in February 1896, and that is generally conceded to be the initiation of modern Zionism, please inform us WHAT exact Zionist movement began in the early 1800s? I imagine 1882 foundation of Rishon was attributable to Herzlian Zionism, but that is NOT early 1800s. Also, why do independent sources state that it was founded by Ukrainian immigrants, NOT Mizrahim? Also, please tell us who is sneaking into Arab lands and building non-Arab buildings in the night and why Arab architects and construction crews of old were so deluded? Who DID build all those nice buildings in Palestine?

And as usual I have no idea what you are talking about otherwise. Why can't you limit your hateful idiotic venom to Israel/Palestine issues? Or go elsewhere to post the rest? irosie, if you can't get your limbic system in check and contribute something you are just a total waste of space. If someone were talking about a "Talmud shithole" wouldn't you just zero them out?

LOL "my limbic system" The little islamo Nazi shill cannot so much as grasp
simple mendelian genetics----NOW IT THINKS its a neurophysiologist. Beyond
that it is insisting that HERZL invented Zionism and that no one built buildings
in Palestine until the dogs of Arabia got there

I like that "Herzlian" Zionism. how innovative but not really all that bad--
yes HERZLIAN ZIONISM was initiated in the by herzl ---around 1897 and
eurpean and mizrachi jews did found RISHON L'TZION (early to zion) in 1882
----that is the reality of history

Zionism is an ideology that has been around for more than 4000 years . Its in the
bible ----ever read that book aenmity? if you ever go to a hotel---
look in the night table drawer'

long ago I encountered lots of muslims from south east asia-----they were
educated to believe that MUSLIMS INVENTED SLICED BREAD

got that everyone arab muslims invented the concept of building
a house

YOU ARE EVADING THE QUESTION.

And the question is ... what Zionist movement was there in early 1800s?

And who built all those thousands of buildings if not Palestinian Arabs?

Repeating yourself won't help, amity. The fact that you insinuate Israel engaged in 'ethnic cleansing' is hilarious and ironic.

Six million Jews were cleansed by the Nazis, yet somehow Palestine has suffered a worse fate. Stop living in the past.

OMG, YES, Israel definitely engaged in ethnic cleansing. This man did the research into the Israeli national archives that proves it:

There wasn't one. But what point is there? Just because they weren't there until 1896 doesn't delegitimize them does it?

Who built the buildings? Who cares?

'Stolen Land'?

You insult my intelligence. When you go up against a superior force as Israel, and lose, you lose land. That is to be expected.

Don't lecture anyone about being 'hateful.' You are vicious and Anti-Semitic. And I see you have friends feeding you rep points for your propaganda. Go figure.

Try to restore your credibility by FINDING JUST ONE anti-Semitic remark I have ever made.

For that matter, try to find just ONE vicious remark I have made!

No?

You lose.

YOU ARE EVADING THE QUESTION.

And the question is ... what Zionist movement was there in early 1800s?

And who built all those thousands of buildings if not Palestinian Arabs?

There wasn't one. But what point is there? Just because they weren't there until 1896 doesn't delegitimize them does it?

Who built the buildings? Who cares?

AMEN.

Just don't join that foolish chorus of idiots trying to maintain that Palestinians are "squatters." I suspect you are probably not the problem...
That was irosie's contention that Zionists were building buildings in the early 1800s, so all the buildings in the films I posted COULD have been built by Zionists.

But yes, it makes a difference when immigrants deliberately scheme to displace the indigenous people. No, they had NO right to do so. And, I'll go further, they had no right to be there.

Zionism is illegitimate.

The point though.... is that those "Palestinians" in the videos, in all likelihood, where Jews.

There was never a point, since the Roman Empire, in which Jews didn't live in the land known as Palestine.

During the Ottoman Empire, at one point the Sultan openly encouraged Jews to return to this land, because he couldn't get anyone else to do it.

More Jews returned, and built 'settlements' and cities in Palestine under British rule.

The point is, these picture and videos, are likely from Jewish immigrants from Europe and other areas, that returned to the homeland of Israel.

Yes, it looks good. Mainly because the Jews started coming back to their homeland.
