The Right To Religious Freedom is codified in the First Amendment. However, that Right by no means or purpose gives those who use their version of their god the right to deny others (based upon Race, Religion, Ethic Bacground or Gender Identity) their rights because certain use their belief in their god as weapon.
There is not one single direct quote or reference by the Man Born of Woman named Jesus in which he condemns Homosexuality. I know, some member will start about Corinthians. That was Paul, NOT JESUS.
I fought for and nearly died for the Freedom of Religion. But that Right also has a flip side, Freedom From Religion.
Your Right To Worship Your Version of Your God is a protected. You do not have the Right To Use Your Religious Freedom to attack others because you HATE (Reference Start of Thread and Read "Faggots") People based on whom they would love.
My wife and I have been for Eighteen (18) Years this November. We lived "In Sin" for Six (06) Years prior to getting married. We dated for One (01) Year. My wife is also a former Cistercian (Strict Observance) Nun. Our marriage is based on our love for each other and we both have friends who are Gay or Lesbian. We have both attended Gay/Lesbian Wedding Ceremonies. Our marriage has survived not because we are Hetro-Sexual, it has survived because we respect and love one another. Our marriage is NOT endangered because Gays and Lesbians want the Same Right of Civil Marriage we have.
I am NOT a Christain (I am so damn thankful I'm NOT). I am a Diest. I accept and believe in a God, but that God is not totally and completely and to the absolute exclusion of all other possible life, concerned in or invovled in the life on just ONE (01) Planet in our Universe.
The OP of this thread wants his Right to Religious Freedom Respected. He uses the word "Faggot" in his opening for this thread. He wants his rights respected, yet even in his opening, he uses a Hateful, Mean Spirited, Bigoted Word because he, as a person who believes in Religious Freedom, believes as part of his "Freedom" he can Hate. He uses his Religious Freedom to a vehicle to Hate Others. Which is the best reason I can use to NOT attend his church.
He believes in a Hateful god. His own words betray that.
