On this 4th of July........Don’t forget to thank a Liberal

Our founding fathers were the most liberal thinkers of their era

Indeed, but the classical liberalism they fostered had nothing in common philosophically with you term-absconding modern-day Bolsheviks.
A liberal is a liberal, is a liberal.

LOL! Uh, no, liberalism in the 18th century bore no resemblance to modern American liberalism. You are smoking something if you think James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington would be liberals in our day. They would view you and your fellow liberals as sick, immoral, and ignorant Jacobin radicals.

Our founders would be proud of today’s liberals ....they have the same values

They would be appalled at American Conservatism
Wishful thinking at best. Todays liberals have no values, want stuff free, stifle freedom, try to destroy those that disagree with them, want to ban guns, promote turning children into homos, etc etc.
You lost me at no values

Conservative propaganda

Modern liberals would be fighting for King George and free healthcare

Socialized medicine is a pillar of the National brand of socialism as well. A non-negotiable part of Mr. Hitler's agenda in Germany.

Liberal historians have tried to erase the fact that Josef Mengele was a doctor in Germany's public health service.
Mengele, as well as Hitler ......were conservatives
Na, they were socialists
Then why did they imprison socialists and condemn them in their propaganda

This is one reason I don't like "liberal vs conservative" - it's a matter of perspective. As the status quo changes, the meaning of those positions change as well. For example, at the start of the Russian Revolution, those that wanted to keep the Tsar in power would have been conservatives, and the communists obviously would have been liberals. Had the Soviet Union lasted another 100 years, and people wanted to change it to something more freedom-loving, those people would have been considered liberal, and the ones who wanted the same thing as the communists at the beginning would have been considered conservative, even though that same position was considered "liberal." And the freedom-loving liberals would hold the same opinions of American conservatives of today.

But... one if the biggest red-pill moments is realizing that seeing gay pride parades in the streets and people openly changing genders was inevitable for a country that elevates freedom as its greatest national virtue, over everything else. Today, I'll celebrate Independence, the sacrifices of the original Patriots, and the successes of our nation since, but I don't know how much I'll celebrate freedom, at least in today's incarnation of it.

Our founding fathers were the most liberal thinkers of their era

Imagine believing that all men were created equal, that royalty were no better than anyone else, that common people should vote

Conservatives supported the King ....that is where the power was

Our liberal founding fathers risked all to create a new nation
Troll thread committed by a troll.

This should be in the Flame Zone.
American History on the Fourth of July

There is no dispute that the founding fathers were Liberals

Of course, if someone were say "On this 4th of July don't forget to thank a white, male, slave owner" I'm sure you would wet your panties.

Now you are getting there...

Liberal vs Conservative is a mindset of how you view the challenges of society. Libearls look to make things better and are willing to risk change. Conservative are averse to change

Just because the issues have changed over the last 250 years doesn’t change the mindset of those facing the issues

Saddam Hussein had a Republican Guard
Did that make them Republican?

Just be sure to know the difference between a liberal and the nuts who have taken over the Democratic Party.

But yeah, once you do, thank the real liberals.

Sorry Mac, but the word "liberal" has been hopelessly tainted so you might as well give up on rehabilitating it.
The Liberals don't even want to be called Liberal anymore.
Now it's 'Progressive'.
After they get their asses handed to them in Nov. and 2020 they'll want to be called "Enlighteners" or some such bullshit meaningless name.

The first shots of the Revolutionary War was when the government came to confiscate guns of citizens, Dufus.

So we shot them.
They were not going after individual guns but the arsenal of the militia

Society changes
The first step towards freedom had to be recognition of the common man vs royals. At that time, it did not include blacks, women or native Americans

Liberals tackled those issues in later generations
