In America, the weight of evidence necessary to condemn someone with a death sentence is ridiculous to the point of beating a dead horse for days after the death of the horse.

Admittedly, some innocent are executed. I don't know the stats......but I bet they can be counted on the fingers of one hand among the thousands justly executed.

I very seriously doubt that US-Mexican relations are going to be jeopardized by either side over a convicted rapist. This is a non-issue and Obama is grandstanding for next year's elections. What he doesn't realize is that the only reason any Mexican-Americans, especially those in San Antonio, would oppose the execution is so that they can get their hands on this scumbag and give him some good old fashioned Texas justice themselves. If Obama thinks this is going to win any Latino votes, he is greatly mistaken.

I agree, they could just put him in the general population and let his constituents provide justice. I'm sure he would be raped and then beat to death...... not the easy, painless death that Texas would provide his lousy ass. The administration said the court should delay the planned July 7 execution of Humberto Leal for up to six months to give Congress time to consider legislation that would directly affect Leal's case.

The 38-year-old native of Monterrey wasn't told he could contact the Mexican Consulate after his arrest in the murder of Adria Sauceda. His lawyers say police violated an international treaty by not telling Leal he could have consular assistance.

Legislation pending in the Senate would allow federal courts to review cases of condemned foreign nationals to determine if the lack of consular help made a significant difference in the outcome of their cases. Last week, a federal judge refused to delay the execution.

What you don’t understand is the left advocates the rule of law and the Constitutional right to due process. Liberals accept the rulings of the Court as settled law. In Plyler the Court ruled that non-citizens are entitled to due process, that they may take advantage of all legal proceedings. Only by adhering to the rule of law do we avoid devolving into a barbaric society.

As already noted, Obama isn’t trying to ‘stop’ the execution, the Administration is seeking a delay to allow consideration for legislation that will authorize further review to ensure that when Leal is put to death, it was done so in an appropriate and legal manner.

Yet another non-issue.

It is already in a legal and proper manner. If he was an American obamaturd would do nothing.
