Democrats give MTG the Finger

ā€˜It was 39 days ago when the right-wing Georgian filed her own motion to oust Speaker Mike Johnson, though unlike Gaetzā€™s effort, the congresswoman did not trigger any votes. Instead, as regular readers know, Greene effectively initiated an uncertain process and got to work looking for allies.

And while itā€™s true that sheā€™s found a couple ā€” literally, two ā€” thereā€™s a growing impression in Republican circles that Greeneā€™s gambit is proving to be a rather embarrassing failure for an extremist already burdened by a cringeworthy reputation. The headline on an Axios report this morning reads, ā€œGOP lawmakers say Marjorie Taylor Greeneā€™s motion to vacate has fizzled.ā€ā€™

Such is the incompetence and stupidity of the Republican burn it all down caucus.

MTGā€˜s plans to overthrow House leadership with a MAGA coup came to a crashing halt. Dems indicate they will not support another attempt to overturn House Speakership. Dems have had enough of the Pro-Putin wing of the Republican Party.

At this moment, upon completion of our national security work, the time has come to turn the page on this chapter of Pro-Putin Republican obstruction. We will vote to table Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greeneā€™s Motion to Vacate the Chair. If she invokes the motion, it will not succeed,ā€ the leaders wrote in a statement.
And do dah do dah day.

A top Republican National Committee official asked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene not to move against Speaker Mike Johnson in a face-to-face meeting Tuesday, as top allies of former President Donald Trump seek to head off what they see as a pointless and distracting internal battle.

The meeting between Greene (R-Ga.) and RNC co-chair Michael Whatley came just hours after she accused Johnson of cutting a ā€œslimy back room dealā€ with Democrats and promised to force a vote ousting him.

Leadership is begging her not to make more of a spectacle of Repub's inability to govern than they already have.
