Neither Hitlers Germany nor I'm-a-dinnerjacket's Iran would last ten minutes after their first strike in today's military environment. Even they are not THAT stupid to believe any use of force including blocking the Straits of Formuz would not immediately be their suicide.

OK...so they send a rocket into a carrier and a hundred sailors die.. That would be the last rocket they launch because we and our allies have the technology to make it so. Then if we/France/China/Russia/(name a country that want's their oil sans human habitation) choose it so we/they justifiably turn the sands of Iran into glass beads.

Especially if Obama has his way with the military. Obama recognizes the importance of global alliances which means we no longer have to go it alone. Europe depends more on oil from that region than we do. I would expect Europe to bear the brunt of that conflict...they have more to lose

Hell....for the last twenty years our own was by choice. Just think how many humans would still be alive and in their homes if we had stayed out of people's business who live half a planet away from where our business should be. If it were not for big oil we wouldn't have given a good goddam about the middle east.

Tell Obama to stop his moratorium on drilling and give approval on the Pipeline. Problem solved.

I already said....it's a game all politicians play. We are not going to burn up all of our own oil. Fifty years ago all of them made up their minds to use theirs and save ours. Again....we have been pouring middle eastern oil into evacuated salt mines and in effect creating new oil fields in this country. Why wouldn't we........it would be insanity to use all of our own oil and have our military depend upon foreign oil. We are smarter than that.

When the rest of the world is running out of oil we will pump and refine our own.

The myth about limited oil resources has been disproved time and time again. Even Rockefeller was warned to be afraid to continue in the oil business back in 1880. Previous scare stories were based on ignorance and lack of faith in scientific progress. But fifty years ago, the oil companies finally realized that the best way to satisfy their insane greed was to dig up the old myth, purposely make us dependent on Arab oil, and create OPEC in order to gouge us second-hand and blame foreigners for it.
