O la la! Could It Be? Will Fox Fire Glenn Beck?

Because it's NOT truth. Piecing together a lot of statements, past (or present) policies, ideologies, etc., and then PREDICTING an outcome is not TRUTH. Truth is when our radar detects incoming missiles.

Glenn has a pretty good prediction record.

The truth is things as they are, as they were, and as they will be.

And his analysis is generally spot on. Including in this.

Nope... sorry, but that would be way too late!

Yep... I can list a bunch of predictions based on historical precident that Glenn has been spot on correct, but then what fun would that be.

Instead... lets just trash his name, and ask those evil conservatives to shut the hell up.

So you're saying what kept 0lbermann from getting good ratings was being at MSNBC and had nothing to do with 0lbermann being 0lbermann?

MSNBC is decidedly left-leaning, and they freely admit it. Olbermann had tussled with management before, and after the shooting incident of Representative Giffords, they decided enough is enough with the high-pitched vitriol. Too bad Fox hasn't done the same.

Care to back that up with facts?

Didnt think so :cuckoo:

I can always back up my comments, but of course you didn't give me a chance. Your assumption made you feel too smug.

Olbermann and MSNBC: a failing relationship - Yahoo! News
Excerpts:
Keith Olbermann's exit from MSNBC appeared abrupt to viewers of his show, but the talk-show host and his network were involved "in a relationship that's been failing for a long time," an NBC Universal executive said Saturday.
...
But the NBC Universal executive characterized it as a mutual parting of the ways, with Olbermann taking the first step. The executive spoke on condition of anonymity because settlement talks were kept confidential.
...
Olbermann was nearly fired in November but instead was suspended for two days without pay for violating an NBC News policy by donating to three political campaigns, including the congressional campaign of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. He returned and apologized to his fans, but not the network.
...
MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines insisted Olbermann's exit had nothing to do with the acquisition of parent company NBC Universal by Comcast, which received regulatory approval Tuesday. That deal marks the exit of NBC Universal chief Jeff Zucker, who saw Olbermann's value in turning around a once-unprofitable network, despite headaches the mercurial personality sometimes caused his bosses.
...
After Giffords was shot in the head on Jan. 8, Olbermann came into the studio and took to the air on his day off with an emotional editorial saying politicians and talk-show personalities — including himself — need to swear off any kind of violent imagery so as not to incite anybody into acts like the Giffords shooting. He said on Jan. 10 that he was ending his "Worst Person in the World" feature because some viewers took literally a feature that was "born in humor."

The aftermath of the Giffords shooting led to a discussion about the need for more civility in political talk, but Olbermann made no mention of that issue on Friday night. MSNBC is replacing him with O'Donnell and moving anchor Ed Schultz into the 10 p.m. time slot and, along with Maddow, all of them swing left politically.

I hope he gets fired as his historical revisions are quite frieghtening, and probably lead others to the wrong conclusions. Glenn Beck is an extremeist along with Keith Oberman, and Michael Moore, and they should have their own network channel called the wackaloon channel.

Coming from someone whom I would bet a crapload of money doesnt know their history.

How about you give us a few things he has wrong :cuckoo:

For someone who's already said he doesn't get to watch Glenn Beck too often that's quite a statement. Oh I'm sorry, you then went on to tell us all how much you learn from him; how much history he gives you for research material.

I was talking about the highlighted statement.... sorry, I dont intend to be or sound or even appear smug. I just dont like the fact that Glenn is being slammed for being accurate and factual.

What a joke.

Same goes for Al Gore's network...... what a JOKE!

Why is it a joke? Almost none of their programming is political. Some of it IS funny. I recently watched a montage of the 50 most viral videos which was hilarious. Is it really always necessary for you to draw a conclusion based on a person you hate (and probably don't even know why)? For you to make that judgment clearly suggests you've never watched CurrentTV in your life.

Current TV Schedule // Current

:clap2: Yep, never watched it and dont plan to either.....didnt need to listen to Air America either to know it was a stupid leftwing apperatus.

As for their programming... bet they dont do alot of global warming bullshit either.

Yeah right!

& yes... yes I do know why I hate Al Gore. Thanks for asking though.

No, the Current channel doesn't do a lot of global warming stuff. In fact, I've NEVER seen a global warming documentary on that channel. Have seen plenty on the History Channel, though. Hate that one too that you probably never get to see?

The Egypt uprising has raised the stakes for Beck -- and Fox. In the past two weeks, Beck has viewed events in Egypt through his own rather warped filter. He claims that the rebellion is not about the people, not about democracy. Instead, he says, it's a move by radical Islamists to take over Egypt, as part of a larger plan to install a caliphate that stretches from the Middle East through Europe and toward the United States. And he contends that "uber-leftists" and Islamic extremists are "plotting together" toward this end. Last week on his radio show, he declared, "Groups from the hard-core socialist and communist left and extreme Islam will work together because they are both a common enemy of Israel and the Jew. . . . Islam wants a caliphate. Communists want a communist new world order. They'll work together, and they'll destabilize. Because they both want chaos."

As Beck becomes increasingly unhinged and lost in conspiracy-land, he may well become a litmus test for the right -- and a measure of whether the leaders of Fox News care about any claim to respectability. Should Fox throw him out of the coop, Beck will still have a cult-like following that he can service via his syndicated radio show, website, and books -- and still make tens of millions of dollars a year. He won't crawl off to an undisclosed location. But he will no longer have the imprimatur of the right's main media outfit. And what better confirmation that the conspiracy is vast, oh so vast.

Glenn Beck: Should Fox Toss Him Out of the Coop?

What do you think? Will Fox finally dump Glenn Beck and his John Bircher craziness?

Beck is just flat out wrong.

But it's hard to see Fox jettisoning one of it's most popular hosts.

What part is he wrong about?

It's easy to say he's wrong or he's crazy. But none of you even try to attempt to back it up.

I dun really want to see this thread get hijacked, The Infidel. I would prefer we discuss whether Fox will fire Beck, and what that would mean if they did.

If you wish to debate the accuracy of The History Of The World According To Beck, can I ask please, as a buddy, would you start a new thread for it?

Thankies, dear man.

Actually, I was the one that derailed the thread. My apologies.

I think I said in another thread about Glenn Beck that it wouldn't surprise me if Roger Ailes was at least trying to decide which Fox commentator is more valuable to the network: Glenn Beck (whose ratings have been sliding dramatically lately) or Bill Kristol who still brings the right wing ideology to the format, but is no conspiracy theorist getting people all riled up and stalking their basements with weapons caches and cans in anticipation of the coming insurgency by Islamocommies.

Nah...He's been too accurate for, and with, two years worth of predictions. Many other anchors report on news-breaking events after Glenn, "my man", Beck has already aired them on his show. If they had watched his show, they would have known..lol. I thought Beck was going to go with a religious theme this year, but he is staying with current ( and future? ) events, so I am hanging with him. He always makes a point many times during his how to check it out for yourselves. His books are best-sellers with pages of footnotes for references. He is very informative. If one doesn't watch, they either don't want to know, or don't care to learn, the truth about current events.

Beck like limbaugh has been pretty accurate with their information. The left can lie all they want. But the truth has been something they can't get around. Mostof us do ot take what they say at face value, most of us do our research, they give us something to go own.

Beck says it's gonna be subtle. We won't even know what hit us. That's why I remind folks that I like to think we're a little smarter and have a much bigger edge than your basic Egyptian citizen who has lived under a pretend democracy (but really a dictatorship) for 30 years and has had enough. There is no comparison.

What is going to be subtle?

Yes, I do agree with you on this... we are much more educated than the average Egyptian. Its not their fault though... they do need a new leader, but its that unknown that I am afraid of. Who will that new leader be?

I dont know why we cant see that The Muslim Brotherhood fingerprints are all over Egypt right now, and our dear leader wants to BS us about it.

Since nobody yet knows, including the Egyptians, how much influence the Muslim Brotherhood will have, it's not up to the President of the United States to interject (at least publicly) on the matter. If the Brotherhood gains seats at the September election, even then the only thing the United States can do is sit and watch how it turns out--just like what happened when Hamas won seats in the Palestinian elections. The U.S. likes democracy, well democracy means accepting the winners of elections, just like here. There's not a damned thing we can do about it--here OR there.

So are Michael Moore's and Al Franken's. Your point?

edit: I don't like either of those two, but just saying-keep some perspective.

and both are sold in the fiction section of book stores, or at least they should be, because both have been debunked.

I'll take your word for it......

As far as History Channel.... I stopped watching alot of their "documentaries" due the "climate change" agenda. It used to be my favorite channel though. Now its more of a joke. Although I do like the Pawn Stars and what not. Good stuff.....

You never did address what I had highlighted though.

BTW... Good discussion though Maggie.

Thanks
:)

Look, I fully recognize that I'm not going to convince a die-hard Beckite with my opinions of the man's presentations, so think what you like. The irony, however, is that he DOES present facts, but he jumbles pieces of facts together to make one big assumption, which often backfires. Big time.
