Number one, just to start anywhere, TV ratings for this week would be a closely guarded and expensive secret. Nobody outside of the broadcast industry, where they pay for them, knows these numbers yet.

Number two, ratings measure attention. That's it. Their one and only purpose is to set advertising rates. They have zero to do with what the content is. They measure how many eyeballs tune in ----------- for whatever reason.

So whatever point you or Dimbart thinks y'all are making here ----- you ain't. K?

Exactly. "Wrecks" (fake wrestling, naked people wandering on an island forced to eat bugs, "scary black man"/"scary tornado" stories, on-stage paternity tests. some fire in a section of town you never heard of but we have video) always draw ratings, that's why they run them. Again --- attention.

The story is bogus anyway. There's no way Dimbart would have ratings for this week, and if they did they'd be sued. Note that they cite no source. They do sub-link to Daily Beast, which also has no source. Broadcast ratings are a trade secret while they're current. That's because they involve money --- both the money broadcasters pay to get them, and the money they make or don't make based on those ratings, setting ad rates.

That's the one, and only, function of ratings --- to determine how much an advertiser pays for thirty seconds of time. If one is not buying or selling TV time ------- they have no meaning.
