He says it is very difficult to measure actual human influence and that the research and the debate need to carry on.

Then he canned the entire climate research department and explained to his interviewer why the EPA itself should be disbanded.

"Giving pink slips to scientists across the federal government, including 43% of EPA scientists, and proposing to eliminate the US Climate Global Research Program in its entirety makes one question who this administration will rely on for scientific research and facts." --Gina McCarthy, former EPA head

"Pruitt loves baseball so put it this way: An EPA head denying science is like [Derek] Jeter refusing to use a bat. He'd be fired and so should Pruitt," -- Michael Brune, Executive Head of the Sierra Club.

What an admirable bunch are American conservatives under the leadership of an ignorant, mentally unstable fool like Donald Trump. Exceptionally so. Eh?

Water vapor is the primary cause of so-called Global Warming

Do you have data showing increasing levels of atmospheric water vapor to coincide with the observed warming?

Shut the fuck up. IT DOESN'T MATTER. The earth has warmed and cooled periodically since its creation. IT'S A NORMAL THING. It doesn't matter what causes it, you imbecile, it happens.

There is no such thing as a static living creature, and this planet is a living thing. If it was static, it would be...I dunno, the MOON. A dead planet.

Why don't you find a thread where someone might be interested in your vacuous responses. Telling the OP to "shut the fuck up" is unlikely to be effective and your lack of manners seems only to be exceeded by your lack of knowledge regarding this issue.

There's nothing vacuous about pointing out the fact that our earth is not a static and dead lump of coal, nor is it vacuous to point out it has warmed, and cooled, since its creation. That's the nature of our Earth. Stop freaking out about it, you hysteric. We're at the end of an Ice Age right now. Yup, we're going to see some warming. Cuz that's what happens. Stop pissing yourself over it, you have no control over it.

"During the last 2.6 million years or so in the Quaternary period, ice ages, also called glacial ages, were times of extreme cooling of the Earth's climate where ice sheets and other types of glacier expanded to cover large areas of land. Between ice ages there were warmer interglacial periods and we are now living during such a time."

BBC Earth - Ice ages have come and gone over the last 2.6m years

And yes, I'm going to tell you to shut the fuck up if you're going to bore us with your nonsense about how we should regress to the stone age because the temperature of the planet fluctuates. What a bunch of bogus garbage.

Do you have any data that shows that fluctuations in warming haven't happened throughout the history of the planet?

The fact is, water vapor acts as an insulator. It keeps the planet from warming up too much or cooling too much. That's why Mars is uninhabitable....because there is no negligible water vapor left in the atmosphere.

You didn't answer my question, but I will assume from your attempt at diversion that the answer is no. Water vapor is most certainly a greenhouse gas and warms the planet. However, if the levels of it have not increased, there is no causation there for the warming observed. That, of course, is NOT the case with the greenhouse gas CO2. It has risen, from an obvious and multiply-verifiable cause, and temperatures have risen along with it.

The fact is, water vapor acts as an insulator.

Yes. Just like CO2

It keeps the planet from warming up too much or cooling too much.

Uhh... no. It slows the escape of thermal energy to space. That raises the Earth's equilibrium temperature. If you think it also prevents the equilibrium temperature from getting too high, you will have to explain the mechanism.

That's why Mars is uninhabitable....because there is no negligible water vapor left in the atmosphere.

A human would die on Mars from suffocation before freezing to death. The atmosphere is about one hundred times thinner than the Earth's, consists of 95% CO2 and 0.13% oxygen. The average temperature is 80 Fahrenheit degrees below zero.

Sigh. Alt Right malarkey.

Way to GO SCOTT!!!! WOOOHOO!!!!

Finally we have sain science in the house!

"Sain"?

Let's review. He just said the research needs to carry on but he''s eliminating our ability to do so. Is he just really stupid, just really dishonest or both?

So states one of the stupidest people on this board.

We now see the effects of the warming of the planet all around us. But the neanderthals that the orange clown has installed in his admin still deny reality. But that will not make one whit of difference in the reality. We are handing our children, grandchildren, ect. for many generations a world far less friendly that the one we were handed. And we know this from the rock solid physics of AGW, and the observations of what is happening right now in the cryosphere, increased temperatures around the word, the ocean pH, and the change in seasons.

Oh my, such a proud display of profound ignorance. You are from Eastern Oregon? Most people over there are not that stupid.

The reason for the ice ages that we have experienced are the Milankovic Cycles. And, by those, we should be getting colder very slowly, nor warmer very rapidly. In previous interglacials, the highest level of CO2 was about 300 ppm. At that level, the sea level was about 20 ft. higher than today. We are at 400+ ppm. And the sea level is rising at an accelerating rate. The ice at both poles is melting, same for alpine glaciers, and the world as a whole is rapidly warming.

That is observational evidence. From physics, we understand how GHGs work, and that understanding goes back to 1859. In 1896, Svante Arrhenius made estimates of the warming that we could expect from a doubling of the GHGs. And his figures are pretty close to the rise we are seeing. However, he had no idea of the feedback we will see from the permafrost and clathrates.

Really, the immense and willful ignorance that we see from you deniers is amazing.

I like this Pruitt guy
I would like to kick his balls right up under his armpits. He is harming my grandchildren, and all those that come after them.

It is so interesting to see people celebrating the stupidity endemic in this admin.

They like polluting and killing the planet. Dont Taz Me Bro probably enjoys doing laps in pollution. It makes him feel powerful!
