Nelson Mandela's Example and Why We Should Follow It

The more I learn about this man, the more I admire him. I grew up in a rural southern community and hardly knew anything about his efforts. Yes, there were still remnants of Jim Crow and segregationist then. The evening news wasn't my favorite show on TV, and and I couldn't understand the stories of why there were efforts to divest from the Apartheid South Africa. I do now and I wish I did then....He was an incredible man.

Sigh, and some of you are the reason I became a libertarian.. deltex, Katz, he who shall not be named, and Wildman for example. Liberals and Conservatives act in similar ways. They spout off without first looking for the facts.

Anyways, can anyone explain why he was put on the terrorist list?

Perhaps if you knew why, you would stop calling him a terrorist and get with the program.

South Africa’s apartheid regime designated Mandela’s African National Congress (ANC) as a terrorist organization for its resistance to the nation’s legalized system of racial segregation that lasted from 1948 to 1994. President George W. Bush signed a bill removing Mandela and the ANC from the Terror watchlist in 2008.

Even then Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice acknowledged the mistake of keeping the ANC and Mandela on the list, stating the it was a "rather embarrassing matter that I still have to waive in my own counterpart, the foreign minister of South Africa, not to mention the great leader Nelson Mandela."

The bill Bush signed, H.R. 5690, was proposed by Democrat Howard L. Berman.

The far left will never be able to follow his example as they can not let go of their hatred for anyone that is outside their microscopic view of the world.

In America, racism runs deeper.

Blacks aren't the problem, but the victims of extreme racism.

So blacks have JUST gotten "freedom" the last 40 years, and still face discrimination in this predominant white society. So we vote democratic today so we can continue to move foward. But MANY of the racists are in the republican party.

So THE REASON the parties are forever locked in dispute is because MANY REPUBLICANS ARE RACIST, and it doesn't matter what democrats want or do...they will fight to the death against it BECAUSE it may benefit blacks who are democrats.

If blacks started their own party, republicans would OVERNIGHT, cease to attack democrats.
lots of Democrats are not racist to your face....but behind your back they are....lets see how the wealthier Democrats react if a Black or Brown family moves next door....

Sometimes, there are things you must point your finger at.

OR....We can all go crazy, and ACT like there is no problem, and blacks just stop trying to point out the obvious and keep dialogue open ....and just decide to kill everyone they see being racist.

OR... we can address the fucking racism. Which will in fact, entail us pointing a finger at the racist and their ways.

OR....we can act crazy like Taliban, and don't point a finger at anyone, but just become maniacal lunatics killing everyone that we think are racist.

Like Zimmerman.

We can sit up here and POINT at an all white, jury, cops, D.A., judge, prosecutors, defense team, med examiners, etc....that lets an unarmed black kid doing nothing wrong be killed.

OR....we don't have to POINT OUT a damn thing, but just kill him and anyone with him.

Which do you think is a wiser course for Black Americans?

leave the condescending Democratic Party and become Independents and vote for the best Candidate....set yourselves free AGAIN....

For us to be able to do what Mandela did is next to impossible.

Mandela was black.

Mandela was not born thinking he was superior to his adversaries. He only wanted peace and justice.

Many republicans ACTUALLY BELIEVE they are superior to minorities.

They consider it an affront unto their sacred selves to share the fat of this land with blacks or mexicans.

Mandela therefore, was in power, but with a peaceful heart toward ALL.

Republicans are in a position of power frequently, but have a hateful heart toward ALL mexicans and blacks...who are mostly democrats.

Therefore, Mandela's ways cannot work in America....

UNLESS.....

We deal with the racists who have successfully hijacked the republican party.

Many republicans ACTUALLY BELIEVE they are superior to minorities.

your right.....but so do many Democrats....especially the wealthier ones.....

They consider it an affront unto their sacred selves to share the fat of this land with mexicans.

that is an attitude shared by many out here with the Mexicans INCLUDING many Black people and lots of Mexicans born here...

Mandela, my ass...follow Jesus...and there would be no need for mandelas...or obabbles.

There are many so-called Christians in this world who should follow that same advice.

Actually, Mandela practiced forgiveness, one of Jesus' key traits. Jesus forgave the thief on the cross, Mandela forgave those who supported Apartheid.

Correct, there are racists in the democratic AND Independents as well.

But that's like telling me there is a snake loose in my backyard...WHILE a robber has broken into the living room, and has a loaded gun to my head robbing me.

Both problems need to be addressed immediately, yet one is a TAD bit more pressing.

Thus, my commentary focused on the scumbag with a Gloc™ at my dome.

Can You Dig It?

Today Mandela is a terrorist. Tomorrow? Who knows. A cross-dressing crack head, maybe? :eusa_eh:

Mandela epitomized reconcilliation, which is a word with a deep religous significance, and not just in Christianity. I don't think he ever renounced the legitimacy of using violence to oppose tyranny, but he personally committed himslef to removing tyranny by pledging to not pursue those who imposed tyranny. I think his economic views were always immaterial to the man and the cause, but its clear that he never nationalized private property or reallocated it based upon some notion of "fairness."

The nearest comparison I can think of would be JPII. But then I don't think the potus went to that funeral.

Mandela did, though, allude to a symbiotic relationship with the Communists in his bestselling biography, The Long Walk to Freedom. "There will always be those who say that the Communists were using us," he wrote. "But who is to say that we were not using them?"

LMAO...When did ole George Washington necklace people and sing about murdering white people. This is ALL the proof I need to know 99% of the world is anti white racists. Eh time comes we will win and survive the rest of you nope.

Its peoples like you who give National Socialism a bad reputation, lad.

Kindly STFU.

Thanks.

This is what gives National Socialism a bad reputation? I don't disagree that he is a reprehensible person, but Im pretty sure it's the racial genocide that gives National Socialism a bad rep.

Lol...wasn't that hard to defeat the negro...LOOL scared little boy...What's there to be scared of? YOU!? LMAO.

This is the Internet. The person who took the high road may or may not be black.

Stat may or may not be black.

I may or not be black.

For all I know, you are a black man.

The Internet is the great equalizer.

Yepp, and probably the reason why Mr. Big NAZI here has all of 24 rep points, which are soon going to diminish some more...

He had that many? How did that happen?

Must have been someone agreeing with him in that minimum wage thread.

"In one of his last foreign policy interventions, he issued a searing rebuke of George W. Bush on the eve of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, calling him "a president who has no foresight, who cannot think properly, is now wanting to plunge the world into a holocaust."

Anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela dies aged 95 | Maan News Agency

Goes to show Mandela wasn't always right. There hasnt been any holocaust.

But just because people are wrong sometimes, doesn't mean we should trash them.
