Most millennials are finding it hard to transition into adulthood, report finds

By his twenties, Kyle Kaylor imagined he would be living on his own, nearing a college degree, and on his way to a job that fulfilled him.

Instead, at 21, he found himself out of school, living with his parents, and "stuck" working as a manager at a fast food restaurant scraping to make hand-to-mouth.

Launching into adulthood has been tricky, he said.

"It became too difficult financially to be in school and not working," says Kaylor, who dropped out of Lincoln Christian University, in Illinois, after one semester because of a money crunch. "And without schooling, you can't get a job that you can survive on, so I had to move back home," he said.

He is right.

McJobs don't buy houses(or anything), but that is all Obama and Bush "created".

The economy is in a permanent decline.

What exactly is it we're to think or feel with regard to a college dropout who can't get a decently paying job?

This is a big reason why America has to shore up any abuses by foreign governments on trade. Why ship jobs into other countries who are only going to undermine your efforts and steal your technology? Why contribute to the one-sided expansion of other economies when they offer little investment or sacrifice?

It should be about the best and brightest economies succeeding. Nothing less. Generations will be lost if Americans don't understand this. China, Mexico, Canada in that order.

If you don't like outsourcing, you are racist.

Do you even know how expensive college is now?

Do you know how worthless a college degree is compared to how much you pay for it?

Do you want parents to always pay for their kids' higher education, or the kids?

This has nothing to do with millennials being "snowflakes." Times are different now. The old way of going to college and getting a high paying job and buying a house isn't as easy as it used to be for previous generations. Housing prices have skyrocketed in relationship to typical incomes, jobs are not as plentiful and their degree isn't worth shit. This is the inevitable result of capitalism, and it's only going to get worse for the next generations.

The best chance millenials have of making money is to start their own business, because there just isn't going to be any jobs in the future as they're all being slowly wiped out thanks to advances in technology and other "disruptive" business models. I think millenials are sensing this too...they know how bleak the future is.

Oh, blah blah blah, you're an ignorant punk.

What is hilarious is the fact that you are quoting how to be an adult.
Once you step into adulthood, you can make a comment. Once you know what an adult is.

In order to have a future, America must get rid of this indentured-servitude educational system and replace it with paid professional training. An example to follow would be that Derek Jeter got $900,000 up front to put himself through baseball's equivalent of college education. Over and above that and his salary for 20 years, the Yankees' profit was over 200 million dollars. Those who oppose incentivizing the talented like that don't belong in America; they either stole their jobs because they were willing to be slaveboys or because their Daddies are rich and gave them an adult allowance to live on, plus paid their tuition. So the plutocratic parasites who mandate it know perfectly well how much students need to be rewarded.

The article says nothing about whether the kid was smart enough to qualify for paid professional training, so dismiss it for being typically shallow jurinalism. The scribbling retards are also college graduates, which proves my point.

There are plenty of jobs in the oilfield all across the country. Those high paying jobs will turn them into adulthood in no time. It's good work and you get great benefits.

Slugged by a Slogan

On America's tombstone, the epitaph will be TO GET A GOOD JOB, GET A GOOD EDUCATION. If students aren't given a high salary and free tuition, they aren't worth anything. Yet rich kids and brownnose graduates run things and inevitably run the economy into the ground.

It looks like many a millenial will be suffering from PTSD as they grow older due to their own ineptness brought on by liberal brainwashing. I expect a horde of false 'GoFundMe' pages in social media in the near future. Poor dolts!

Most degrees these millenials are going for will be worthless if they even graduate... Some are excellent. Most are not. Far too many choose what they think is the easiest degree to achieve, in hopes that when they enter the workforce, they'll be making $100,000 grand a year or more... Wrong! All most of them get, is a pile of debt. Trades are far too often overlooked. They can't be outsourced, there is, and will always be a market for them; and they start paying from day one.

I wish the article mentioned the career they were pursuing.

My GF started working as a pharmacy tech after HS. She then became a RN after learning the hospital would pay for her education.
She later became an ICU nurse after more education.

A few years later she decided to get her masters in nursing education. She taught nursing students while working 38 hours/wk in ICU.

She then went back to school and is now a nurse practitioner. Again... while working full time.

The GF did everything right. She not only pursued a career she likes, the hospital paid for most of her education.

25% of millenials living at home do not work or study!

Could be time to reinstate the draft, especially with NoKo in the eventual crosshairs.

What's even funnier is they kill themselves for 60 years being the slave for low wages...

The republican party certainly isn't going to get us back to the value of money and standards of 40-50 years ago...Unions and anti-trust are the only way.
