Makers of Netflix Movie about Black Cleopatra Don’t Know Sh*t About History

If Jesus can be played by James Caviezel in Passion of the Christ (heck, has there been any middle eastern actors playing JC ever?), why can’t we have a black Cleopatra?
Caviezel can easily pass as a levantine.

Because we do know what Cleopatra looked like. We know about her entire family. She was a fair redhead.

The way I look at it, its "acting".

If a movie producer wants to cast a black chick as Cleopatra, or Pee Wee Herman as MLK, that's their right and no one should be offended.

If you don't like it, you don't have to tune in when its on TV.

Love to see Pee Wee play MLK! Heh.

How many Naive Americans were Jewish, Italian, Irish, English or French like in US films of the 1930s-1970s? How many Europeans played Asian detectives in the 1930s-1940s?

Can you post the exact color of her skin.

From the OP link:

... She was Greek, specifically Macedonian, a descendant of Alexander the Great’s general, Ptolemy I.

Little wonder that former Egyptian Antiquities Minister Zahi Hawass insists that Netflix’s depiction of Cleopatra “is completely fake. Cleopatra was Greek, meaning that she was blonde, not black.”

Yeah not black. A European Greek. Btw white folks have been in the Nile valley for 600000 years. So you could even say European phenotypes originated in Africa. But not black with afto hair.

She didn’t live in Greece.

She lived south of that more under the sun. Which country was that again?
