Love and compassion

The prophet’s mercy to animals, Even the bird found a place in his heart

The prophet’s heart would be shaken to its very foundations if he saw a distressed bird that lost its babies. A wounded animal, a hungry animal, a sick animal , insects burnt, water being polluted moved his heart, too, and stirred his compassion, yet on his shoulder he onus of imparting God’s message to the whole of the world. How great is such a prophet!

How miraculous is this prophet!

He is the message of heavens to the earth, the message of mercy, the exemplary to be followed. God says in the Holy Quran what means; “you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent exemplar for him who hopes in Allah and the latter day and remembers Allah much. (21)

Prophet Muhammad called not to kill even a frog and he said, “Its croaking is tasbeeh (praising God).” Always with this litany was capped his words” Those who are not merciful will not find mercy( on the part of God).”

Such is his mercy that inspired his followers such as Um’ar ibn Al-Kahtab to the extent that he, too, was so worried if an animal was stumbled in the far east or west and feared that he would be held responsible for it before his Lord; he says” I fear that If an animal is stumbled in the far east or west that I will be held accountable before my Lord on the Day of Judgment.”

This is Mohammed, who rebuked the tyrannies of his times including emperors, notwithstanding he would be moved for a bird that lost its babies.

It is narrated that someone took two chicks of a bird (hamra), which came in panic searching for its chicks. Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him and his house) then asked, “Who has distressed it by taking its chicks?” Then he asked them to return the chicks.

Perhaps people lavish animals with their care because of their beauty unmindful of their being entities created by God, The case is different in Islam. The following Hadith lays credence to this fact. It is narrated that the prophet once passed by a burned out anthill. When the Prophet saw it he asked, “Who has burned it?” When he was informed of who had done it, he said, “Only the Lord of Fire has the right to punish with fire.” Is there any beauty in ants?!

His mercy was not only confined to caring about animals but it goes even more, Seeing a hungry animal would move his heart so much to the extent that he would go to its owner rebuking him for not feeding his animal.

Once the Prophet passed by a camel that was so emaciated its back was one with its abdomen. Upon that, the Prophet said, “Fear Allah with regard to livestock. Ride them in a fitting way and eat them when they are in good condition.”

In his heart, everything has a portion, the distressed among people would go to him to ease their hearts even the distressed animals would do the same thing. He once entered the garden of man from the Ansar (Muslims of Madinah) and there was a camel. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his house) saw the camel it froze and its eyes started watering. Then the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his house) came to it and rubbed its ears so it calmed down. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his house) said, “Who is the owner of this camel? Whose camel is this?” A young man from the Ansar told him (peace and blessings be upon him and his house),”O Messenger of Allah, it belongs to me.” Then he told him (peace and blessings be upon him and his house), “Do you not fear Allah with regard to this beast which Allah has let you own? It complained to me that you starve it and tire it by overworking it and using it beyond its capacity.”

Who doesn't have mercy for other animals in their hearts?

the muhummad nice guy stories are lifted from preexisting stuff-------lots from the midrash which

Three aspects of the economic system are usually referred to as the major distinguishing elements of any economic system.

1.1 Property

In the Islamic system, property is a trust. The real owner is Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala). Man’s disposal of worldly goods is in the capacity of a viceroy and a trustee. His rights are, therefore, circumscribed by the limits Allah has prescribed, and should be exercised toward the ends Allah has defined. Unlike the capitalist system, the right to property is not absolute but has limitations and qualifications enforced not by the power of the government but by the power of one's faith and desire to be a pious Muslim. Hence, the common-good and the welfare of fellow Muslims are internalized in the decision making process of every Muslim. It is Socialism with at the state.

In view of the purposive nature of man's life in the Islamic world view, even these limited rights of ownership are not devoid of purpose. Wealth is an instrument in the effective discharge of man responsibilities as the viceroy of Allah, and the achievement of well-being in the life for himself, his fellow Muslims and fellow human beings. No where this viceroyship is displayed like in the Shari’ah laws of inheritance. These laws clearly assume that once the individual is dead, his wealth goes back to the original owner, who specifies to whom the wealth should go. The laws of inheritance specify where exactly this wealth should go, regardless of the approve or the consent of the deceased owner. He is permitted to endow only 1/3 of his legacy. Even then, such endowment should not go to a beneficiary (one also is included in the inheritors) not to uses that are not considered is Shari’ah a charity.

1.2 Distribution

Because al-adl (justice and fairness) is a basic value of the Islamic economic order, distributive justice is a major concern of the system. Equitable distribution of income and wealth is therefore an objective by itself. Operationally, this is accomplished through certain institutions which form the backbone of the social security in Islam. Examples are a bound:

1.2.1 Zakah

Zakah is the third pillar of the Islamic faith. It is a unique system of social security. Zakah is not a hand-out from the rich to the poor. It is a right of the have nots in the wealth of the haves. It is a measure designed to directly transfer part of the wealth from the well-to-do to the poor and not to the government. Because the purpose is redistribution of income and wealth, without creating a class society zakah is levied on almost every one. Even the not very well to do, pay zakah. He may then receive the zakat of others at the same time. Zakah is levied annually on the wealth itself and not on the individual or income, at a general rate of 2½ % per annum. This is not all. Zakah is a requirement. However, a Muslim is always engaged not to confine his charity to that requirement by giving alms (sadaqat).

1.2.2 Laws of Inheritance

It would not be possible to guarantee the functioning of the system free from injustices without a built-in-mechanism to prevent injustice reproducing itself generation after generation. Studies show that one of the major causes of inequality in income distribution, is the distribution of wealth. One major outcome of the Islamic laws of inheritance, is to prevent concentration of wealth. This is because legacy is distributed in a pre-set ratios which take into consideration need and closeness to the deceased. Yet giving the deceased the right to assign part of his wealth (not exceeding 1/3) to charitable uses.

1.3 Economic Freedom

Freedom is a cornerstone in the Islamic economic system. In fact, it is so basic that the whole message of Islam came to free man from all kind of slavery. Freewill is a necessary condition for the validity of all contracts. The basic human rights which are now included in the laws of civilized countries has been a part of legal system of Islam since the Prophet (P.B.U.H ) . In fact, all the so called Magna Charta has been enjoyed as the basic individual rights in Islam for centuries. Furthermore, to guarantee competition in the marketplace and freedom of transaction, many measures were adopted by the Prophet (P.B.U.H). Prohibition of monopoly, manipulation of prices and restricting entry to the market are but a few of these measures.
1.4 The Islamic Economy is Interest-Free

Today’s trade and commerce in the whole world is run on the basis of interest based debt. If we look at the money and capital markets in any country we find that they are basically markets for exchanging financial obligations and receivables. It is no wonder that just the mere thought that interest rate may go up (or down) will bring havoc to all sectors of the economy. Standard economic analysis tells that interest rates play important roles in the economy. Firstly, that it provides incentives for savings, and secondly that it performs an allocative function with regard to capital. The argument goes as follows:

  1. Saving is essential to any economy because on which depends the rate of investment, and hence the rate of growth of the economy and the property of its citizens. Since economic development is the objective of every society, improving the nascent rate of saving becomes a basic requirement for the achievement of a viable and sustainable economic growth. Because too much saving may be just as unproductive as too little, interest rates, furthermore, provide a tool for policy as regards savings where this rate is controlled in such a way as to attain the right magnitude of savings as required by the going economic circumstances.

Mahatma Gandhi

I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind… I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I closed the second volume (of the Prophet’s biography), I was sorry there was not more for me to read of that great life.

The opinion of Non-muslims upon the Holy Prophet ...

Drawing faces or pictures of living beings is haram, but on forums and other places on the internet people draw emoticons using symbols, for example :D represents a smiling face if u look at it vertically. is this haram?.

Praise be to Allaah.

It seems – and Allaah knows best – that this face, whether it is smiling or sad, does not come under the same ruling as images that it is forbidden to make, draw, or use, for two reasons:

1 – It contains none of the features of a real face, such as eyes, mouth and nose, and it has no head or ears.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The image is the head; if the head is cut off, there is no image.” Narrated by al-Ismaa’eeli in his Mu’jam from the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah no. 1921 and in Saheeh al-Jaami’ no. 3864.

2 – The majority of fuqaha’ are of the view that if something is cut off from an image without which it could no longer live, then it is not a haraam image. For a detailed discussion of this issue and the views of other madhhabs, see Ahkaam al-Tasweer fi’l-Fiqh al-Islami, pp. 224-240.

But we should point out two things:

This usage in chatting on the internet does not come under the drawing of images, rather it comes under the use of images.

Please see the answer to question no. 78963.

Secondly: A woman should not use these images when speaking to a man who is not her mahram, because these faces are used to express how she is feeling, so it is as if she is smiling, laughing, acting shy and so on, and a woman should not do that with a non-mahram man.

It is only permissible for a woman to speak to men in cases of necessity, so long as that is in a public chat room and not in private correspondence

Just sayin'

Sometimes bird moms and dads have to pick which of their chicks to feed. According to a new Nature Communications study, that decision depends largely on environmental conditions. Parents in a quarter of the bird species studied ignore their begging chicks, and some even neglect smaller chicks that beg more in favor of bigger chicks that beg less.

it is an interesting observation---my guess is that the issue is NOT "how much begging"-----the issue
is the rejection of a weak member. -----chicks chirp and extend their necks and open their beaks
VIGORIOUSLY in order to get fed. Human infants "root"----which is they actively turn their faces to
the mother's breast and virtually latch unto the nipple and suck. Those that neither beg nor root----
because they are weak-------as the ones that end up starving----ie the runts lose. Long ago when I was
a student in a big university located in a semi rural area-----I used to visit the "AG SCHOOL" grounds----
(AG is "agricultural" )-----the pigs were interesting-----the little piglets fought each other for an
opportunity to latch onto a maternal teat------sometimes the pig mamma would roll and stand and
the weaker guys fell off. We is humans----we nurture the weak for religious reasons

an interesting aspect of Islamic property law is that a person who converts to islam is entitled to inherit
ALL of the heritable property of the family------the non-muslim loses all-------another way islam was
spread and promulgated and rendered militarily strong. In islam property belongs to MUSLIMS.
Progeny who leave islam-----lose rights of inheritance. Property rignts within the communities of
non muslims are based on very tenuous treaties with the muslim ruler---which often means the LOCAL
muslim chieftain------- that can be breached at any time. They depend on the need of the ruler to
maintain stability and the functioning of the TRIBUTORY non muslim community.

My university ---the part which was the school of agriculture----was raising them-----there were sheep
and cows too. ------I was not a student of that PART of the University----I just wandered around the
very lovely campus grounds. My religion derides pigs? nope-----it just disallows eating them.
Jews are also not allowed to eat horses and donkeys and camels------or humans. -----you are thinking
of muslims who get all upset if they simply SEE a pig. -----a whole different thing. I was fascinated
with pig behavior. I had a little glass piggy bank as a kid. ----I should have mentioned that I am
in the USA-------my university was situated in a FARMING state. --------and we do the best tomatoes---
(clue)

and we do the best tomatoes---

sounds like California - so much for the hogs, too bad the university penned them as it sounds and would be the same for the cattle ... quality of life should come before the desired end result.

you know

There are millions of people worshiped stones

Unfortunately

And made them like the Buddha statues

And another statue of Jesus and Mary, peace be upon them

So

the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him warned from this

And he said

() The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) kissed the Black Stone in hajj, and his ummah followed his lead in doing so.

It was narrated that 'Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) came to the Black Stone and kissed it, then he said: "I know that you are only a stone which can neither bring benefit nor cause harm. Were it not that I had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) kiss you, I would not have kissed you. "

(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1520; Muslim, 1720)

You can draw rocks and flowers and anything inanimate .....and so on

It is important in this

Allah only wants one thing from His slaves.

"And I (Allah) created not the Jinn and mankind except they should worship Me (alone). I seek not any provision from them nor do I ask that they should feed Me. Verily, Allah is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong." [51:56-58]

Allah only wants mankind to worship Him alone and ascribe no partners with Him in worship, and truly be His slaves. He wants them to surrender to His will, as they surrender to His control for the means of their lives. It is only fair to worship only the One who holds the existence of everything and everyone is in His Hands. One should thank Allah who, alone, provides for him by worshipping Him alone

وكسر الأوثان ، وأن يوحد الله لا يشرك ‏به شيء ".‏

It is permissible to eat the meat of onagers (“wild donkeys”) and it is haraam to eat the meat of domesticated donkeys. The first is permitted because of the report narrated by al-Bukhaari (5492) and Muslim (1196) from Abu Qataadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) who hunted an onager and brought a piece of it to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and he ate some of it, and he said to his companions: “It is halaal, eat it.”

With regard to domesticated donkeys, their meat was permitted at first, then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) declared it to be haraam on the day of Khaybar.

Al-Bukhaari (5520) narrated that Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: On the day of Khaybar, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade the meat of domesticated donkeys, but he granted us a concession allowing us to eat the meat of horses.

Al-Bukhaari (5527) and Muslim (1936) narrated that Abu Tha’labah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade the meat of domesticated donkeys.

Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Most of the scholars believe that the meat of domesticated donkeys is haraam. Ahmad said: Fifteen of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) regarded it as makrooh (in the sense of being haraam). Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr said: There is no difference of opinion among the Muslims scholars today concerning the fact that it is haraam.
