The first one admittedly let a guy off the hook because he agreed with the reason the guy broke the law. He needs to be disbarred since he isn't interested in upholding the law and merely pandering to like-minded individuals. If someone disagrees with him politically, will he be harder on them out of spite? Hey, if he's willing to ignore the law to keep someone who shares his views out of trouble, it's likely he'll do the same to put a political opponent in jail. Corrupt is corrupt. He needs to go.
The second case is regarding a judge who went after someone for having differing political views. It isn't as cut and dried, but there appears to be more of the same kind of corruption by a judge who doesn't let the law guide decisions.
Regardless of which side of the political fence a judge is on, we cannot tolerate this kind of thing. Justice should be blind, not left or right.
