Laredo City Manager: a border wall is unnecessary

it's not that people on the Right want to build this massive wall necessarily; but they probably see this as easier to do than to get the Democrats to agree to stop giving social welfare benefits to illegals, or at least admit they ARE getting them. nobody comes here just to pick tomatoes in a field unless it is more than they had at home

not to mention that half of the illegals are people staying here on expired legal visas.....they didn't sneak at night across the Rio Grande...

we need a 'virtual' wall....physical walls in only some places....anybody ever drive across Texas before....that is one damn big state to try walling off physically....

I've always been against it. Most of TX is. It sounds like a good idea when you don't know what you are talking about. What is really needed is lookout towers and "permission" from the feds to arrest detain punish the people coming across. As it is we treat them like guests and give them a ride.

Building a wall all the way across Texas and Mexico border would be funny to watch because the cost of it would piss off taxpayers, and the fact the Cartels will just tunnel under it like other walls that have been built.

Fact is the solution is easy but let be factual the typical politician will not support this idea and that is punishing the employer for hiring illegals.

Making the penalties stiff enough to stop the hiring of illegals would curb the illegal migration, but alas the Business community will not hear of this because cheap labor is more important than securing our borders...
