A high-ranking Israeli Government official admitted for the first time that thousands of children were kidnapped in the 1950s from their Jewish mothers and fathers who had fled Yemen, before being given or sold to Jewish Ashkenazi families.
The official said that until today, those children do not know who their parents were, Asharq Al-Awsat reported.

“The deliberate operation of stealing hundreds of children truly happened,” Minister-without-portfolio Tzachi Hanegbi of the Likud party said.

However, the minister did not explain in details to which parties the kids were handed to, but only said that they “hope to study the documents and evidences to understand what happened and try to reach a solution”.

Last month, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the issue of the Yemeni children constitutes an “open wound for many families that do not know what happened to their children who disappeared, and are still looking for the truth.”

I am very sure that there are very few government that have a perfectly pure history. As the saying goes, 'no one is perfect." And in Politics, there is a time honored tradition to researching the background of an opponent for the sole purpose to find information of an easily encapsulated event with some emotion raising stigma attached that will taint the environment surround the target. We call this "mud slinging."

In this case, the purpose of the release of this story is to dredge-up the events of a half century ago in order for one Islamic driven news outlet to cast a shadow on the Jewish opponent in order to challenge the credibility of the Jewish Target (in this case, the Jewish National Home).

Unless you are specifically interested in the domestic issues pertaining to this action, its only true purpose is to use --- insults and accusations --- with the aim of damaging the reputation of an opponent (target).

You can separate meaningful discourse from mudslinging babble by asking the question: How does this pertain to the discussion of the question of: "Israel and Palestine" ???

Domestic issues are something for the Israeli People to ponder and discuss. I doubt that anyone in this discussion group was an injured party in events described.

It should be noted that the initial disclosure, of those details released thus far, come from an Israeli Ministerial Inquiry (Minister Tzachi Hanegbi of the Likud Party --- including Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked). This was NOT a "New Disclosure" but information arising from a number of different inquiries spanning several decades. There is more to this story than the FAR News Article might lead you to believe.

In any case, no matter the outcome of the fact, it is a domestic issue for the Israelis to consider. It has nothing to do with our discussions here.
