Well, shit happens I guess. meh
Only in shitholes like Iraq and North Dakota.

No, shit happens everywhere. Fore example:

What Are Natural Oil Seeps? | response.restoration.noaa.gov

"oil from underwater seeps generally behaves like oil spilled during or after extraction, forming large slicks which spread and drift with winds and currents. The slicks can form miles-long lines of black, brown, and tan oil, easily observed from the air. As oil drifts away from seeps and continues to weather, it forms tarballs and mats. In southern California, for example, these may come ashore or be carried more than 100 miles up or down the coast."

A leak from a pipeline is really negligible when compared to natural oil seeps. BTW those seeps never stop and they average approx. 160,000 TONS of petroleum per year.

Look, no one likes to hear of a pipeline leaking oil but it's just an accident, clean it up, repair the pipe and move on. We shouldn't be making a bid deal about it. IMO

The only thing 'funny' Angelo is that you seem to think emotion should supplant actual facts.

Oh here's a big surprise.
The Keystone pipeline has spilled hundreds of thousands of gallons of crude oil into North Dakota this week, The New York Times reports.

The pipeline has leaked roughly 383,000 gallons of crude oil, impacting an estimated half-acre of wetland, according to state environmental regulators.

A whole half acre
How will the nation ever recover

Yes, we get 160,000 TONS of natural oil seep a year!! Somehow we survive. (see m former post for link, etc.)

Those little half acres here and there add up.

Have you stopped using oil then?

Impacting an estimated... half acre of wetland?

Sure, any spill is not good but hey... me and some friends of mine will clean up that half acre for the low, low price of beer.

How much? Can you publish a live link? Thanks. Think of it this way...if we were to harvest oil seeps (say cap them and recover the crude) AND we had a 'leak' that 'leak' would be meaningless considering we precluded more oil seep by capping and harvesting it. Think about it.

More simply, how do you know we are not limiting natural oil seeps by pumping it out of the ground before it has a chance to get into the 'environment?' LOL

How much do they add up to, since you obviously have the facts and figures at hand?
