The ignorant and uninformed, the majority of Americans, actually believe Jesus was political. Jesus associatedwith everyone, a big tent mentality, and that is far away from Republicans and Democrats. However, to suggest someone as radical as Jesus was a "conservative" is absurd.
The problem with partisan hack Americans these days is they allow leaders in their church to dictate to them who to vote for politically and why. And if they differ they are told they are not Christian enough because of their decision.
In the 50s and 60s we saw Republicans blasting Democrats for pushing their religous values for civil rights and other issues. Now we see Democrats doing the same because Republicans want to push their "moral" agenda on others.
If this has not been Exhibit A why religion has NO place in politics then nothing is.
