It's simple: Employer/Employee is subject to supply/demand

We have evolved in technology so that we have replaced some jobs with machines, or streamlined it so that 1 man can do the work it took 3 to do 20 years ago.

Next, we have imported 20,000,000 unskilled, desperate low wage workers over the last few decades.

It's quite simple. We have an excess of workers, and too few jobs to go around.

It's all coming back to supply and demand. CEO's do not demand labor as much these days. There is an ample supply, in part due to the 20,000,000 we've imported.

How do we fix the supply/demand problem in our labor market?

Throw all the computers in a big pile and set fire to them and go back to using pencils and paper, file cabinets, and other such means that creates jobs. The only people who would be able to use a computer are the members of the USMB so we can solve all the problems of the world by communicating with each other.

promote small business over mega corps.

In legislation and taxes

The left wing has an idea on how to fix the nasty supply/demand problem when it comes to labor and consumers: It's called eugenics, and they've been quietly pushing for it for over 200 years.

Thank God, it's so evil that society hasn't embraced it yet, not as a whole. Obama and the Clintons have embraced it, by praising Planned Parenthood, whose founder boasted of her dream of ridding the world of "negroes and morons" (the latter meaning the handicapped) through abortion.

But most of the civil society has rejected eugenics.

Wal-Mart started out as a small business.

Almost all mega corps started off somewhere as a small business. So if we promote small business, and they succeed, eventually they'll become big corporations.

So let me translate liberal jibberish for the rest of you:

"Promote small business" translated means "Destroy corporations".

Promote small business over mega corps.

If that had been done then walmart would not have been able to push out so many small businesses

We can promote it all we want. But if more people shop at WalMart then anywhere else, it's inevitable.

I bet even you have shopped at WalMart. Don't you know that anything you bought there could've been bought at a small business somewhere else? Shame on you.

And they could have stayed that way with the right legislation and taxes.

Then all those mom and pop stores would still be alive instead of killed by walmarts agressive romp

" - Our world-class agriculture sector provides a great model for how to think about the evolution of U.S. manufacturing. The U.S. produces more agricultural output today—with only 2.6% of our work force involved in farming—than we did 100 years ago, when farming jobs represented almost 40% of the labor force.

Likewise, we're able to produce twice as much manufacturing output today as in the 1970s, with about seven million fewer workers. That means yesterday's farmhands and plant workers can become today's computer engineers, medical doctors and financial managers. - "

WOW:eek:

So you believe the government should step in and prevent a company from growing????

No wonder left wing governments always fail.

Bald R. Dash.

If the government just got out of the way by implementing low, fair taxes without loopholes, tax breaks, credits, etc. combined with enforcing the rule of law, that would be plenty.

Small business doesn't need to be promoted by the government. It just needs government to quit engaging in the Big Government Cronyism that hurts them for the benefit of Big Government Cronies.

And apparantly, that left winger in this thread thinks the government should've regulated and tax WalMart so much as a small business that it never would've grown big.

Which means EVERY small business would be subject to that so that none of them grow into the next WalMart.

And if each company knows that it will not be allowed to grow much bigger, why even try to innovate and compete?

Too big to fail ring a bell people?

So thats what you are going with, huh?

That the gov't should regulate and tax businesses to the point that none of them are going to ever grow to the size of Wal-Mart?

It's always fun to see a left wingers tyrannical side peek it's ugly head out.
