What are your opinions on how we can stop racism or even deal with it better?

Find a way to educate people. I cant understand why people dont see it. The wealthy pit the poor against each other. This is not a new dynamic. This has repeatedly happened throughout US history.

Black thug culture, just like redneck white trash culture, disdains education.

How do you change that?

Thats not entirely true. Black thug culture is the result of lack of opportunity and a clearly defined way out of poverty. I have known some big time drug dealers that were avid scholars and very intelligent. The perception that the system is rigged against you from birth results in a "fuck it" attitude. Real gains need to be made in the media as far as the narrative they put out there about Blacks. There are millions of Black professionals but all you see on TV are the gangstas. Think of it like this. Something is being sold and its not the concept of Black success.

That said, white trash culture is a result of a lack of opportunity too, and they feel just as trapped and plotted against by "the Man".

Maybe I should have said black entitlement culture, as I do respect thugs that have the ambition to climb out by any means necessary.

I have always seen drug dealing a civil disobedience more than crime.

You would know more about the white trash culture than I would. From where i am sitting it is incomprehensible that you can be white and poor in this country. The social brainwashing automatically give you a leg up. You are taught from birth that white is right and you basically created the universe. You have examples of white success beamed to you via the media on a daily basis. How does one feel trapped when all you have to do is not be lazy and apply yourself?

You have a biased view thats why its incorrect, If white people are being beamed those messages theyre not all recieving it. Of course there are going to be poor people in evry culture. how can it be inconcievable? Your just not privy to other peoples problems. Your only looking at black and white.

Thug culture is a relatively new phenomenon in Black society. It came from the false hope of Civil Rights. The people of my era dont have the patience and acceptance my parents generation had. We still see the same white racism in effect but the name has changed. The biggest hypocrisy is the commercialization of thuggery. Whites have sold this to their youth in order to make money and also to keep that Black crime narrative going. A 2 for one deal if you would.

White people receive the message alright. The only way they dont is if they dont look at TV, read newspapers, or go online. Its mindset that they may not consciously see but make no mistake they see it. Yes there are going to be bad apples in every culture but the stats bear my argument out.

There is only one way to end racism.

In your own heart. You cannot ever hope to control the heart of others.

Just don't be part of the problem and do not associate with those who are. The rest is just a function of time.

So u think that if we forced whites and blacks or any races to interact with one another then that could HELP racism?

That will cause us to hate them more. It's all political and policy. Force blacks and everybody else to get educated or work or no welfare. Smarter proactive people gain respect by doing these things.

Hi Holly,

It needs to be addresssed from different angles, its a problem that requires really strong leadership in the sense that a strong leadership can pull people together by example and not rhetoric and lip service alone. A message of the importrance of personal responsibility and self determination, need to put out there very strongly and often. Its really in the end , up to each individual to have love and respect for his fellow man but there are so many road blocks to that. We really should see ourselves as one nation and not all these groups that we see, we need to think of ourselves as Americans first, and the rest should follow, but when courses of action are taken by the media and the political that further divide us... it makes this nearly impossible. Forgivness, and responsibility are always given lip service but never really taken seriously, because so many people want their grievance taken care of FIRST.
Again, I think it is a Top - down problem, sensationalism in the news often stokes the flames because journalists these days are really editoralizing
instead of taking time to properly cover both sides . Jounalism and news these days is Less about educating the public to an issue as much as it is
SELLING the story,

Sorry Holly, Im no expert, and the problem seems to be a cyclical one, there are so many levels and directions inside and out to approach the problem
that I almost dont know where to start, one post, doesnt even scratch the surface, hope that helped at all.

Yes, your response does help and THANK YOU!!! Journalism, news, and media all focus on getting a reaction from the public instead of concentrating on educating us and this is a BIG problem in the world today.
