Is medicare going broke?

As it stands right now is medicare going broke? I keep hearing people on the republican side saying that medicare will be broke by 2016, or 2024, or 2034. Ted Cruz said the last one and he's not exactly a reliable source.
What is your forecast for the future?
Do you trust medicare system in the country?

The far right lies that Medicare and SS and Medicaid will bust the economy.

They say it, but never offer any convincing evidence.

Any spending problems for the entitlement problems can be fixed very easily and fairly painlessly.

If the pattern continues, as the Congressional Budget Office forecasts, it will be a rarity in the Medicare program’s history. Spending per Medicare patient has almost always grown more rapidly than the economy as a whole, often by a wide margin.

When a system is run by the government, it is at least 50% corrupted system.
The goal is not to make medicare survive, the goal is to make it work good.
