I can remember pissing away trillions in asia for 20-years during the VN war. Then there was the "3rd world debt" crisis when we lent trillions to 3rd world countries instead of investing that money here. Then there was the Gulf war series of trillions more wasted because the government didn't think thru the transportation system mess and our gas guzzlers will leave us bankrupt as gas prices increase.
This ignores things like the "S&L Bailout" and TARP.

Eventually the $17-trillion DEBT will sink the US and it will be because the DC whores don't do their jobs. They just whore for Wall Street and K-Street.

Humm ok....

Sure, the CEOs of financial institutions with their private jets and eye-popping bonuses were guilty of ambition, but the fat cats didn’t all work in a bank or a hedge fund. It is the legitimization of greed that fueled this debacle, and nobody is innocent of it.

BAC, you know I respect your posts, but I have to take issue with some of your statements.

I'm thinking of entrepeneurs who have started out on their own, not to be rich but for the challenge and share the skill or talents that they have. By doing this, they hire more people and can be very good, generous bosses. But it wasn't necessarily for the greed of it all, the the ambition and work ethic and wanting to be their own boss.

Wantonly attacks smaller nations. We attacked Afghanistan and that was the right thing to do. We can not stand by after an attack without showing there are consequeces to their actions. Iraq, however, was wrong.

I believe we need a strong defense, but cut out discretionary spending, and yes we house many prisoners. Compare that to Mexico where crime on the streets plagues the economy and tourist industry, not to mention the safety of all living there. I'll take our LE and our number of prisons any day.

We are hardly perfect and we have to improve, but after looking at countries with riots in the streets, starvation mounting, and unsanitary conditions elsewhere, I'd rather work to move this country in the right direction again.
