I recall reading a book by Howard Jarvis in the 70's that talked about this, how there were hundreds of hidden taxes on a simple loaf of brad, how insurance costs GM more each year than the materials that cars were built from and so much more, that's the fault of government, not capitalism, we went through Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. and now half way through Obama and corporations still employ thousands of corporate attorneys,lobbyists and accountants to keep from paying taxes.

I recall reading a book by Howard Jarvis in the 70's that talked about this, how there were hundreds of hidden taxes on a simple loaf of brad, how insurance costs GM more each year than the materials that cars were built from and so much more, that's the fault of government, not capitalism, we went through Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. and now half way through Obama and corporations still employ thousands of corporate attorneys,lobbyists and accountants to keep from paying taxes.
I agree with that, yet capitalism is a myth, because it cannot survive without government intervention.

the people on social security and medicare have paid into the system their entire lives, they were'nt asked if they wanted to pay into the system they were told they would pay into the system and then when they reached old age they would receive social security and medicare.

I don't know about that, black markets flourish without regulations and intervention, the only thing that causes the grief such as the killings on our border is due to government intervention, abolish the "War on (some) Drugs and that problem would be about as big a problem as moonshiners.

I sell Medicare Supplements, actually "most" have to pay into Medicare Part A, I say "most" since there are exceptions such as the Railroad, government employees, etc.
Medicare Part "B" is an option as is "C", now "D" is but you will get charged a penalty if you don't join when your eligible if you ever do join.
