If Kerry were president-elect come 11/3...

My whole family will be dressed in black :terror:

(Otherwise we'll all be dressed in Red, White and Blue :usa: )
:D

Ya know...almost as much as I fear Kerry getting elected, that's not the biggest thing.

Kerry elected will mean all the Michael Moore, MoveOn.org, I-like-dictators-who-give-free-health-care types will be VINDICATED. It will prove those hateful tactics and fearmongering actually work. Just think about it. Kerry's whole level of success in this campaign is not about all the good Kerry will do but the pure unadulterated hatred of George W. Bush. Go back to the Democratic primaries. Howard Dean is the symbol of their party. A ranting, raving, no-war-at-all-costs far-out lefty. That is who Democrats are.

But Dean wasn't nominated.

Why? Because the Dems knew that Americans would never vote for someone as shrill as Dean. Someone like themselves. Do you all remember when Kerry was taking the lead? Think back and remember the words from the Democrats. Were they all excited about his ideas? Did they like his ideas more than those of Howard Dean? No. They were going for Kerry because he was electable. That was the word I was hearing from them all the time. Kerry is "electable". We really like Dean, but Kerry is "electable".

The Dems are not voting for Kerry out of love of Kerry. They are voting for Kerry because I think they honestly hate our President. They will deny this up and down of course. "I don't believe George Bush is a bad man! I think he wants what he thinks is best for America! Even if it's dead wrong. And favors the rich. Whom he loves more than our children. And our childish 'kids' in Iraq who were gullible and foolish enough to join the army when we were misled to war! And I don't think Bush lied! I just think he didn't tell the truth! We were misled by him!"

I believe that when Kerry is elected his centrist platform will dissolve. He is after all, the most liberal member of the senate. I mean for cryn' out loud he once said that the U.S should take no military action unless it was approved by the UN! Of course the camp said that was after he got out of Vietnam and he was horribly scarred blah blah blah...But then came the debate and the "global test" remark. That just seems to scare the living shit outta me more than anyone else. That "global test" phrase came from the same Kerry who wanted to hand our sovereignty over to the UN. "We must pass a global truth standard". Only one problem. What the hell kind of judge of truth is the rest of the world? The rest of the world hates us. And they hated us long before Bush. Why? Hell if I know. Maybe it has something to do with us refusing to join their new-world-order global socialism cabal.

But of course Kerry will still be tough on terrorism as he says, right? Of course he will. If we pass the Global Test. But we will never need another country's permission to go to war to protect ourselves. But we must pass the "Global Truth Standard". Somehow Gulf War I didn't even pass Kerry's "global test". I don't understand how someone could support that postion. Not even the most rabid democrats I know honestly do. But the welfare of America is ultimately trumped by one thing.

Hatred of George W. Bush; and all things Republican.

Holy shit that turned into a long rant.

Goodnight

Nicely, nicely put, theim! The only way the Democrats can gain power is to conceal who they essentially are. Have a good sleep - you earned it!

My first thought would be thank goodness that bozo and embarrassment to the Republican Party has gone. Then I would look forward to the Republicans selecting a good man like Rudy in 4 years time, who would win comfortably. The other positive aspect is that it would put paid to Hilary Clinton's ambitions to become President.

Your original sentiment that the Democrats are all secretly anti-war and that Kerry's support is generated almost exclusively by hatred for George W. Bush seems antithetical to the ideas expressed by the language of the "liberal" voice you assumed in your post. Let me throw it to you like this..."Bush favors the rich". This is countered by the Republican sentiment that John Kerry disfavors the middle class. This is an ideological difference which would fuel a large rift. You can say someone is wrong about this, but don't say they're saying it merely because they 'hate' Bush. I, personally, *dislike* W. because I'm not convinced of the feasibility of top-down economics. But I'm not going around saying people 'hate' Kerry because they disagree with him on this point.

I suppose my main beef has to do with the assertion that the hypothetical liberal rant you presupposed was 'caused' by 'hatred' for Bush. I'd say that what you call hatred (and I call dislike and distrust, by and large) follows FROM these ideological differences, not expressed BECAUSE of hatred.

There are of course some people who hate Bush. But to discredit the credibility of a liberal's (or an anti-Bush's) assertions by assuming what their motivations are is to do a great injustice to these people.

I'd be deeply saddened if Kerry were to win. But I would be very thankful for the power Republicans still yield in Congress to keep him in check. The benefit might be that overall spending might be reduced if a Rep congress is fighting a Dem president.

The worst part would be our new first lady (UHG!) and having her represent the American people. Not to mention that if, God forbid, something were to happen to Kerry, we'd have a pretty inexperienced VP to take over the leadership of the free world - and a trial lawyer to boot!

I just hope Bush wins the electoral but not popular vote again. I would get enormous satisfaction from watching the Dems writhe in agony over another "stolen" election.

How come Kerry hasn't promised to capture Bin Laden within 100 days of taking office? Hell, he's promised everything else so he might as well promise that too.

Haha, well that might be entertaining. I am going to prefer watching Bush win in a landslide though. the libs will be so confused because they are certain most people hate the President.

What would be your thoughts/ reactions?

The expletives that would come from my mouth should probably not be discussed.

I want to say I would start looking for housing in Canada or Mexico, but I won't. I survived Carter, I could survivie this. As long as the horse faced bastard doesn't put our fate to much in the hands of the French.

I went to an airshow today in Houston , got to see the pride of the U.S.Air Force , The Thunderbirds . Great show as usual . What was interesting was my conversation with a young Air Guard Sergeant . He was answering questions about the F-16 he was taking care of . He told me what I think is on the minds of many in our armed forces . He said if Kerry would get elected , he would not reenlist . He felt that he was a treasonous fool that should be in jail . He is also extremely offended that Kerry and his supporters denigrate his service in the Air National Guard .
I shook his hand and thanked him for his service and hoped he could continue serving under his current Commander-In-Chief .
I don't think it will be the end of this country if that asswipe gets in office but I am sure that it will only be because of a tremendous amount of cheating on the left side . Look at the 46,000 in Florida that are double registered , most of them are Democrats, I'm sure that is happening across the country . Dead people , homeless , illegals , the Dems are happy to add their votes along with the felons , freaks , and dimwits that have to be shown who to place the x next to . The Democrats welcome the least educated among the country to gather votes from , the easier to pull the wool over their eyes . PATHETIC! How do you think Algore got so many votes? :fu2: Democrits !

I think what you described is the overall view of Bush from all of our military and much of the country. Democrats like to think that the military will support Kerry and feel lied to by Bush, but that simply is not the case. Polls show that Bush if favored by the military by as much as and even more than 70%.
I think the country is also very much behind President Bush. Considering 9/11, which some blame Bush for, the economy which is made out to be a disaster, the war, the deficit, etc., and all of the other things that the democrats like to bring up against Bush. Considering all of this, and yet Bush still leads in the polls, although within the margin of error, says to me Bush will win on Nov 2nd, by a margin greater than what most people may think.

it all depends on turnout turnout turount. If the polls are dead tied and one side gets more of their people to the voting booth, they will win.
