They have commissary in both prisons and jails. While I understand your opinion and sympathize with it...a good way of keeping violence to a minimum in lock-ups is giving inmates jobs so they can earn money to buy some foods, hygiene items, etc...

Incentivising peace is necessary in these types of environments, I don't have a problem with model inmates being able to buy pizzas every once in awhile.

If you´d see the weekly schedule of lunches in our prisons, you would go mad! Even beef olive! However, the article says the pizzas are made by other inmates.
