Let me first state that I have often criticized Obama, not to mention the countless times I've criticized the Clintons whom I consider to be unethical, at best, and corrupt at worst. Nonetheless, I reserve my "slamming" of president for folks like GWB who, among his many sins, also directly was responsible for US and others' deaths and maiming, torture, and wasted trillions of dollars.

Nonetheless, given a few important factors, I may never have the "satisfaction" of again slamming a POTUS.....The factors are:

1. The current implosion of the republican party, led by scared, weak and self-preserving morons without an ethical compass. Just look at the vast majority of GOP candidates and the "leaders' in both houses of congress.

2. The rapidly changing demographics of key red states (such as TX and FL) where their electoral college votes may soon turn those status, first purple, and then a vivid blue.

3. And finally, my age and life expectancy.....Since I don't expect a republican to sit in the oval office for another 18 or so years, my criticism of presidents may still be there.........but the slamming, hardly..........alas.

this is what drives me nuts....i have seen in this forum both sides say how their guys aint that great,BUT, they cant be any worse than the other peoples people,but yet they vote for them anyway....and when a decent non-party person may be running,i get told...."thats a wasted vote"....but yet these voters will vote for the same old shit just because they "BELONG" to one of the 2 big guys....and then here we are after the same old shit gets elected,bitching about the same old shit....again....thats a wasted vote.....

Unless you're running yourself there isnt a perfect candidate. Every candidate will have some position you dont like or fall short in some way. So you always pick the best available candidate.
The notion of "lesser of two evils" is nonsense. Do bosses hiring say "well we'll just pick the lesser of two evils for this job" or do they say "we will pick the best qualifed candidate"? The latter of course.

On a recent visit back to the east coast, I heard from several friends and relatives that when their doctors or pharmacists now charge considerably more and the patient/customer complains, the standard response is, "blame it on Obama"......So these physicians/pharmacists make out like bandits, AND have a ready (and quickly acceptable) excuse by gullible Obama haters.
