It is conservatives who win elections. McCain was hailed as the great voice of moderation and someone who challenged his own party. This was supposed to appeal to Dems.
Until it didn't.
We don't need a Dem-lite candidate like Romney, currently trying to justify Romneycare. We need an actual conservative.

I don’t think Palin will run and Cain does not have the name recognition.

That leaves Santorum and Bachmann and, since Santorum does not have the Tea Party credentials that Bachmann has, I think that leaves Bachmann in a good position (assuming she enters the race).

i think it's as simple as huckabee enjoying the money he's making. he's never been rich, before, if i'm not mistaken and he's pulling in tons of cash now. plus, even if he got the nomination, his changes of winning a general election aren't so great. so why give up the cash?
