How the country is divided

Libs are socialists and the primary slavery freedom fighters were Abolishionists, Christians, not libs. In fact, there weren't many libs back then because life was tough. Only the strong survived.
Your mythology is noted, and wrong as usual.

Christians fought against Slavery eh? Who do think owed the slaves, the Hindus?
Learn a little history. That abolitionists started when the Second Great Awaking began and was instrumental in the abolitionist movement.

I even picked a website you socialists don't complain about.
The Christians who didn't own slaves fighting the Christians who did. I got that part.

Blaming Christians for slavery eh? That's rich considering the Abolition movement had its founding in religion among other things. And where does it say Christians and slavery in the US went hand in hand? Some more left wing revisionist history??

There is plenty of blame for slavery to pass around. The Christians earned their share in spades. Here they were the slavers. The Christians of today like to ignore that part. It makes them look bad.

Back to the OP. I think we are seeing this battle in politics globally. City vs rural.

Grab this one. I don't think I'd have believed it if my husband and I hadn't heard it with our own ears. It was an interview between Adler and a representative of the health ministry of Manitoba.

This interview was concerning the downing of our rescue helicopter over a review and the use of the rescue helicopter in general.

This rep from the ministry actually told Charles Adler that he thought that the money used to save people in the rural sections in Manitoba and btw that's mega mega quizzillion square miles was a waste of money.

That if they didn't have to worry about rescuing people in the country with this STARS program they could rescue more people in places like Selkirk or Portage la Prairie.

This is a member of the ministry of Health of my province actually giving voice to urban counts more than rural.

Aye carumba!
"We don't count in the hinterlands" just validated. Live on radio.

I am seeing that worldview here, too. Rural is viewed as dirty, ignorant, backwards, etc. We used to realize that "the country" was our backbone and a necessary and appreciated part of the country. "The city" can't survive without "the country."

Yes, cities tend to be more rounded, more modern, epicenters of art, culture, commerce, education, etc. Frankly, I could do without the elitist attitude, though. Cities operate a certain way. They have to in order to accommodate their huge numbers as harmoniously as possible. That does not make them better.

You guys just wait until the zombie apocalypse or a pandemic or a nuke. One of the reasons we will come through an event like that is our rural areas and all those rednecks, hillbillies and coonasses the elitist city-folk turn their noses up at.

I absolutely agree.

In the past, even the most partisan dimocraps didn't try to divide Americans.

Today, we have a dimocrap party that is dead set on setting Americans against other Americans.

Look at the threads they start in here EVERY DAY.

I mean every day.

Blacks against whites, women against men, gay butt-rangers against normal human beings, urban against rural, class against class.

All they do, all dimocrap scum do anymore is incite hate. It's all they do.
Who started this thread?

How should the country be divided?

  • cool people vs sucky people
  • hot vs not
  • under 6' vs over 6'
  • people good at math vs people not good at math
  • people who think like you vs people who don't think like you
  • people who think like you vs people who "have to" think like you
How should this country be divided?

Did this person just say that they believe that a zombie apocolyose is a possibility? I love nutters. Really.....I do.

Oh, please! Seriously? You don't recognize light hearted humor?

Sure I do. And not many nutters have any. You grouped it with two very possible and very unfunny scenarios. Maybe you need to work on your delivery.

By the way....it is common knowledge that a nuke will be aimed at a population center....and that pandemics are more likely to effect metropolitan areas. So....your assertion that country folk will "bring us through" these events is a lucky guess on your part.

The only dif is that the conservatives dream of a Duck Dynasty type zombie apocalypse.

I agree. Let's round up the libs and ship them off to the highest bidders.
Sorry, we founded it. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

She's NOT proud our country has lost over 500,000 soldiers helping free other countries?
She's not PROUD our country United States – www.foreignassistance.gov, Uncle Sam doles out “more than $58 billion a year in foreign assistance through more than 20 agencies.” More than half of that, roughly $37 billion, is managed by the State Department and USAID.

Couldn't care less. Black women didn't found it, nor was it founded for them.
