Whats the point you are trying to make here? Law enforcement officers would be exempt from any weapons laws put on the books, thus any law would not do anything to prevent this. Except of course if you force the police to follow any law other citizens have to follow.

Rowan authorities say five people, including two children, were killed when an SUV struck a tree and burst into flames Friday evening in Spencer. Four other people were injured.

SPENCER Ten-year-old Charles Patrick was riding in an SUV with eight relatives and friends Friday night, heading to a delayed New Year’s Eve party in Spencer when the GMC Envoy careened into a tree on South Rowan Avenue.

His body slammed through the back window. He woke up, alone, in the middle of the street with a busted lip and blood in his hair. He waited for the police, wondering if his family or friends had survived.

Most didn’t. Authorities said five people were killed, including two children. Another child was declared brain-dead, according to family, while one other child was in critical condition and a third was in fair condition.

Among the victims were Charles’ uncle and cousin, 45-year-old Vincent McNeal and Sean Javan Jacobs, 25. Police said they were from Salisbury.

The single-car wreck occurred about 8:10 p.m. Friday near the intersection with 11th Street.

You're going to have a hell of a time with the Enviro-whackos trying to ban trees.

Clearly, we need to ban guns from members of the law enforcement community.

Yep, why was that gun left out and accessible to little kid?

I can't imagine what the father is going through, but folks need to secure their guns when they have small kids at homes. He knows he's to blame.

Of course, back when I was a little kid guns were in the house, not locked in a safe. But me, nor any of my buddies, would have even considered touching them without permission. We were also taught to shoot at a very young age, and knew gun safety.
