Hillary Clinton..."The People's Champion"!

Yet you can't name a single conservative group that was EVER prosecuted by Lois Lerner's group at the IRS...can you, Joey? How is that possible? Why wasn't Rove brought up on tax fraud charges?

It wasn't her job to prosecute them. It was her job to determine if they qualified for a tax exemption under a Social Welfare Agency where they didn't have to report who their donors were.

They could have registered as Political Action Committees and told everyone who their donors were, and there wouldn't have been an issue.

So why are you for pumping money into politics without disclosing donors?

You accused them of tax fraud, Joe. Who was it that was guilty of that? Name some names.

Lerner's job SHOULD have been to been to follow the law. The reason that she took the 5th was that she knowingly broke the law. A small group of people in the IRS and the Justice Department decided that the Supreme Court Citizen's United decision was a bad one and that THEY would prevent conservative groups from attaining tax free status and that THEY would leak confidential tax information.
Nope, the reason she took the fifth was to not dignify RW BS with a reply, nor to give all those BS orgs an opportunity to twist and spin innocent remarks AGAIN. ANOTHER BS RW "scandal" with no there there, hater dupe. Take your pill and CHANGE THE CHANNEL lol....

Members of congress had already said that someone was going to jail over the 'scandal', this before an investigation had even been conducted. When sentencing was already being determined before there was an investigation, trial or conviction, Lerner had ample justification for keeping her mouth shut.

When you've already determined the sentence before the investigation, clearly whether or not a crime had been committed is irrelevant.

Lois Lerner took the 5th because she knows she broke the law. PERIOD.

One of the reasons that political donors want anonymity is that they fear being singled out for punishment because of their political beliefs. What Lois Lerner did at the IRS is a perfect example of that. Nobody...whether from the Left or the Right should be able to use the power of the IRS to intimidate political opponents. It was wrong when Nixon attempted it back in the 70's and it's still wrong now.
nothing new about minorities feeling persecuted merely for being themselves.

What members of Congress said was that if someone had done what Lerner was alleged to have done, that they should do jail time. If you recall Barack Obama said essentially the same thing before deciding to stonewall the investigation. Lerner broke the law. She disclosed confidential tax payer information. She selectively targeted conservative groups for treatment that liberal groups did not receive. That's the reason she took the 5th. If she had been innocent of the allegations against her she should have WELCOMED the chance to testify in front of Congress and prove that innocence. Instead, she declared that she was innocent and then claimed the 5th.

And of course nothing ever came of any of this, just like all the other "scandals"- because it's pure Pubcrappe, for dupes only. A disgrace to distract the rubes from the ongoing Pub class war and rape of America and the world...see sig.

For starters...Lerner disclosed confidential tax payer information. THAT law.

Says you. Republicans were already declaring sentences before there had been an investigation. In such a witch hunt, silence is the smartest option. As its clear that guilt or even if a crime had been committed was irrelevant.

Nothing came of it because we had an Attorney General that refused to investigate anything that made the Obama Administration look bad. Eric Holder was the worst joke of an AG I've ever seen. He was never the people's Attorney General...he was always Barry's Attorney General.

Silence is the smartest option when you know that you have an Attorney General who won't pursue the case.

When the Attorney General is determined to uphold the law and not play politics...the smartest option would have been to cut a plea deal. Lois didn't have to worry about THAT though, did she?

You've had the same response, almost verbatim from the Obama Administration with each scandal that's been exposed. You first declare that it's a Republican "witch hunt". You then stonewall the investigation for as long as you possibly can with a compliant Justice Department. Then you declare that it's "old news" and it's time to move on.

Republicans over played their hand, declaring sentences for the 'scandal' before there had even been an investigation. Let alone charges, trials or convictions.

Thats' a witch hunt. And silence is the best response to it.

What's amazing to observe is how new scandals supplant old scandals...pushing them out of the public eye. The main stream press has been like a cat chasing the beam of a flashlight around the floor...bright shiny objects make them forget what they were doing a month ago as they charge off to report about what's new. They never get to the bottom of any scandal because there is yet another one to chase after.

The best response when you're guilty is to declare it a witch hunt and refuse to answer questions.

When sentences were declared before conviction or even an investigation 'truth' had nothing to do with it. Which is exactly my point. The GOP had yet to determine if a crime had even been committed. And yet they were already assuring prison time.

You can't claim that evidence or truth had a thing to do with that. Especially when years later when their investigation demonstrated essentially jack shit in terms of crimes, folks are still calling for jail time.

People don't go to jail because some guy is 'angry'. They go to jail because they are guilty of crimes proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Republicans were demanding jail time before there had even been an investigation. Skipping right past the 'evidence', 'charges', 'trial', 'beyond a reasonable doubt', 'conviction' parts. You know, where virtually the whole of due process is exercised.

You can't tell me that it had a thing to do with 'truth' or 'evidence'.

He went from being "outraged" at what took place at the IRS to declaring that there was no "there" there.
