I am a believer of this cure for serious hiccups. Learned through a friend who got it from a bartender. Worked for me when I got a bad case of it drinking. About the only time I get them.
It requires an assistant.

Plug your nose, plug your ears(assistant), take three swigs of beer(without taking a breath between swigs).
It worked, I was amazed, and I would have to imagine any liquid would do.
