This was an easy situation, how much has he cost the owners and league by not being straight from the beginning? Instead, you leave it to a bunch of poorly informed, athletes to follow the likes of Colin and of course, to listen to the "resistance" politicians and globalists telling them that they should kneel. The left thought this was great politics and surrounded them, now all of a sudden Trump talks about getting rid of tax breaks and a letter is sent. Classic!
Ratings down. Attendance down. Jersey sales down. Advertisers pulling out. Interest in the sport down. Now Trump might just pull the plug on their tax breaks. Well played NFL, well played indeed.
Sports and politics don't mix, and rarely does divisive politics equal good business. Goodell didn't have it in him, probably a Hillary supporter, and now they are getting hammered.
Well when you have constant military tributes and police tributes the games that's politics too.
If u don't want them to kneel they should include that in the union contract like in the NBA .
Or just do as Jerry Jones did, "you kneel, you don't play". Simple.
You will get paid, you may get traded, and ultimately it will most likely be your last contract. Decide what's more important to you, respecting the wishes of your boss not to inject politics in their place of business, or, find a new career.
I'm not insensitive to the issue they are confronting. I admire some of them who are well spoken and thoughtful about the broader issue, both sides, as it were. Far too many are just lemmings who don't appreciate how it's hurting their business nor concern themselves with how their paying customers feel, and how it insults so many.
why would he do that? that's money and quite a lot of money. you're confused.does Goodell tell everyone not to drink beer at the games too ?

hypoctitical son of a bitch ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Guess Trump won that war.
Why doesn't the NFL allow any players who want to protest wear some sort of logo on their helmet or a black arm band or something like that? Then they could show their support for the cause and everyone's panties could become un-bunched.

Hopefully just the beginning.....Obama did massive damage to this country in 8 years.

Because of branding. The NFL doesn't make money for crap like that, only when someone comes to them and asks and pays a whole bunch of money for the players to support that cause.
They're kinda like NASCAR in that respect.
Like many of our fans, we believe that everyone should stand for the National Anthem. It is an important moment in our game. We want to honor our flag and our country, and our fans expect that of us. We also care deeply about our players and respect their opinions and concerns about critical social issues.
If it was so important why did the player stay in the locker room during it until 2009?
Are they going to force the networks to carry it?
Will they fine player who still kneel?
Fascism wrapped in the flag coming an NFL city near you!

They should be shutting down the vendors and closing the bathrooms about 5 min. before the Nat'l Anthem and make everyone stand at their seats.does Goodell tell everyone not to drink beer at the games too ?
It is....but it's not about the anthem to trumpanzees.....it's about finding ways to denigrate those protesting police brutality. When fans boo you duh there's a clue.
Isn't booing during the anthem disrespectful?
