Good Ole Socialists/Progressives: Trying To Get Fox News Banned...

I don't think anyone should be taken off the air!!!

That's not the American way!!!!

BTW....can you name me ONE fox news anchor, commentator, ect. who has any educational experience in political science? Any practical experience in matters of war? Any background in economics or business?

I record "The Five", "O'Reilley Factor", "Hannity" and "On the Record" on FOX on weekdays.
I record "Hardball", "The Ed Show" and "The Last Word" on MSNBC on weekdays.

I watch them at my leisure, skipping all the commercials.

Two things you can be sure of:

The shows on FOX will always present liberal guests, and in some segments, ONLY liberal guests, while the shows on MSNBC will present conservative guests only very rarely.

MSNBC shows are offensive hate fests, filled with phony and snide remarks, always at the expense of those who dare to be conservatives, while the shows on FOX are entertaining and funny and the FOX hosts have the grace and sense of humor to - sometimes - laugh at themselves.

As far as news, there is nobody on MSNBC even comparable to Shepard Smith.
Of course, the "Liberals" are really MODERATE CON$ passed off as Libs, and even then they are NEVER allowed to speak without constant and habitually rude interruption.

The "Libs" are never free to speak without interruption, their right to free speech ends with each interruption. That's free speech CON$ervoFascist style!

That's why so many people are tuned off to the mainstream news. They have like 3 Libs to one Con and the Libs constantly interrupt the Cons and won't let them speak. Many get a headache trying listen to to everyone speaking all at the same time.
Libs are very rude and are always interrupting conservatives when they are speaking.
Fox controls that rude behavior and Libs hate that.
Both sides are talked about in a sane way and you can listen to each one's ideology.

During my 20 years in that business, I don't recall such a prerequisite for the anchor position. Link? Also, how would your question apply to MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS achors?

Looking forward to your response.

Where are the left crying '1st Amendment' and all that jazz?? Oh, it's Fox so it's fine to ban it because you don't care for Fox's 'reporting'? What ever happened to 'I may not agree with what you say but I'll defend to the death your right to say it'? Losers.

Of course they want to ban Fox, that way they can keep the stories they don't want everyone to know about quiet. Like this.

As our own CNSNews.com first reported, 43 Catholic dioceses and organizations are suing the Obama administration in federal court over the attempt to force religious institutions to provide contraceptive and abortifacients with all of their health insurance.

ABC's World News and NBC's Nightly News completely failed to report this historic event! CBS Evening News only dedicated a brief 19 seconds to the story and framed it as a birth control debate. By contrast, ABC led their evening broadcast with the sentencing of the Rutgers student who spied on his gay roommate with a web camera. That story received three minutes and 30 seconds of coverage at the top of the newscast.

This is not a mistake or an editorial oversight by the broadcast networks. This is a deliberate and insidious withholding of national news to protect the 'Chosen One' who ABC, CBS and NBC have worked so hard to elect and are now abusing their journalistic influence to reelect. Even when a network like CBS mentions the suit ever-so-briefly, they botch the issue by framing it as a contraception lawsuit instead of what they know it to be: a religious freedom issue. It's bogus, dishonest ‒ a flat out lie.

The fact is that the Catholic Church has unleashed legal Armageddon on the administration, promising 'we will not comply' with a health law that strips Catholics of their religious liberty. If this isn't 'news' then there's no such thing as news. This should be leading newscasts and the subject of special, in-depth reports. Instead, these networks are sending a clear message to all Americans that the networks will go to any lengths ‒ even censoring from the public an event of this historic magnitude ‒ to prevent the release of any information that will hurt Obama's chances of re-election.

O'Reilly, apart from his degree in journalism also earned a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. At Harvard, he was a student of Marvin Kalb.

Just sayin~

This is what the Democratic Party has come to. Pretty sad. :(

This month, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics (CREW) wrote to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski asking him to revoke the broadcasting licenses of Rupert Murdoch. A ban would include any and all news organizations affiliated with Murdoch’s umbrella organization, News Corp, which owns Fox News.

Why should they? They report the news, just like all other reporters. They read from a piece of paper and a TelePrompter.
They aren't running for office, they aren't in the military and they don't run their station's.
They all get the same news called the AP.
It's about the pick and choose stories that come out from the AP.

Fox and the rest of the Pub Propaganda Machine are a joke and a disgrace to everyone but brainwashed loudmouth dittohead/dupes/haters. Bring back the Fairness Doctrine so there is an argument against the demagogues. ...Fox IS sneaky but many stories are ignored, many stats are spun. The evidence is the chumps on here.

Fox News has some of the most experienced people in the business. Many of them have years and years of experience and some of them are the best in their field of work. They consistently employ many people with extensive experience in military, Law, economics and business. There is no disputing this fact. You have tried to post a deflection here, their News Anchors regularly provide experts with extensive experience in all of the fields that you listed.

Hmmm...where are all the lefties with their analogies of how Nazi Germany this sounds?
I'm right here! No one can get more opposed to Fox "so-called" News than me, although I find the shit they spew absolutely disgusting, I'm of the position they have a right to spew it.

The only thing more disgusting than the shit Fox spews, are the people that believe it.

Another failed thread from USMB's resident hack.

First, the Democrat party has nothing to do with this.

Second, CREW doesn't cite Fox's or its commentators' views as reason to revoke Murdoch's FCC license (nothing about banning was mentioned); they cite News Corps' phone hacking scandal and their questionable standards as proof that News Corp isn't eligible to hold a FCC license to operate in the US.

CREW Calls for FCC to Revoke Murdoch’s Broadcast Licenses | CREW | Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington

Under U.S. law, broadcast frequencies may be used only by people of good “character,” who will serve “the public interest,” and speak with “candor.” Significant character deficiencies may warrant disqualification from holding a license.

An investigation by Great Britain’s House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee recently condemned Rupert Murdoch as “not a fit person to exercise stewardship of a major international company.” Further, the Committee concluded that both Rupert and James Murdoch turned a blind eye to the illicit activities at News Corp. The Committee described parts of Rupert Murdoch’s testimony as “barely credible,” and said the notion that he had no inkling about the widespread illegal conduct was “simply not credible.”

Well, Rachel Maddow's father was an Air Force Captain which automatically makes her MORE qualified to discuss military issues than O'Reilly, Hannity, Van Suesteren, AND Geraldo combined lol!

Of course when you add to that her degree in Public Policy (Stanford University 1984), and a Rhodes Scholarship and Doctorate of Philosophy in politicts from Oxford University you can see that she alone is more qualified to discuss public policy than ANY of the jokers at FOX including Rupert Murdoch or Roger Ailes (the poineers of this propaganda network).

I'm just sayin!

Intelligence AIN'T always necessarily evil when you're talking about "KNOWLEDGE!"

I did, and his name was Charles Manson back in the 60s when he was yapp-yapping it up on tv about his innocence in the LaBianca/Tate houses of horror, murder, and Manson's nutcase cult worshippers.

What do you expect from a bunch of anti-freedom assholes?

They're anti-First Amendment, Second Amendment and Tenth Amendment..

They're a bunch of tyrannical fucks who only run to the Constitution when it is convenient for them to do so.....

They'll scream Fourteenth and Sixteenth Amendment all day long, but will turn around and call the Bill of Rights and the Constitution itself "old fashioned."

Fox is good entertainment but they DO cater to the lowest of the low lying fruit in America. It is a sad statement on America that their ratings remain so high.

They certainly blur the line between opinion and fact and they do it very subtly by distracting with a lot of bling....glitzy sets and backgrounds, sound effects, short, oft-repeated soundbites, and so on.

If you look carefully the FOX News experience is not too much unlike a trip to Wal-Mart (yuck!)

In a "perfect" world I suppose there wouldn't have to even be a discussion about "censoring" FOX because consumers would do it naturally through the free market in their demand for QUALITY.

Yet....FOX endures. They point to their "high" rating as proof of (ahem) quality.

Kinda like Wal-Mart cites their status as the nation's largest retailer as THEIR proof of "quality" when we all know better!

Welcome aboard, and shame on the nutjobs for negging you so hard.

I'm not a nut job. But this guy is clearly a diehard member of the loony left based on the posts he's made so far.

That report was not agreed to by the conservatives on the British committee, saying that the report was biased and an unfair assessment.
