Gay Pride Parade

That pic was disgusting and inappropriate, the Bass needs to post here a little more to keep pics like that from being posted.

Careful CB. Someone will find pictures of the black men who frequent these events.

I'm with dilloduck on the description of a "sexual circus" coming to town.

We held the contracts for 85% of Idaho's rest area maintenance for awhile. When the rainbow movement would come through the state it was a mess. They left filth everywhere and had absolutely no discretion whatsoever.

Public places are not porn theatres people. There is no excuse for indecent behavior in public. In as much as people have the right to do their own thing others have the right to say keep your private parts a private matter.

Britteny Spears ... straight and very explicit.
Charlie Sheen (well his character on TV) ... straight and excessively sexually explicit.
Planned Parenthood ... advertising straight sex 24/7 (or at least when I am watching) on TV.
The list can go on and on of these 365 day, truly sexually explicit examples, all straight.

However the Pride Parades do not normally allow any actual sex and rarely mention sex as part of their pageantry, if they do in your area then you should contact their funding organizations and inform them. It's suppose to be PG-13 and all I have seen are PG-13 in most cities.

Regardless of straight or gay sexual explicit mannerisms belong to a personal choice. One can turn off the tv or not have one at all if they don't like it. The same goes for a computer.

Anyone who puts themselves or their personal preferences into the public eye is subject to public scrutiny. They are also subject to the rules set by what is deemed appropriate in a public setting.

If I tell you I am a Christian you also obviously have the right to scrutinize my beliefs giving your own personal opinion.

When it comes to public display and another wants to flaunt their sexual beliefs or their religious beliefs either one, there are limits set on how far either can go. The difference is one group stays fully dressed while the other group does not.

When it comes to public policy on public property or in public view the majority has the right to set the rules.

Granted it has been cleaned up in some areas KK but not all. If they want to have pagentry it really is simple get a room or rent a stadium or an auditorium.

No one is forcing you to go to the parade either. I choose not to go to Mardis Gra but it's extremely offensive, and very violent almost every year here. I just make the choice not to get involved or watch. Same thing ... just a different parade.

If they do they must be latent and or open sodomites, the mods should do something about that sick post.

In another thread you basically admitted that Burps statement was correct yourself, nuff said.

If you live on or near the parade route it's not really possible to avoid.

How so? Do they bust down your door and prance through your living room somehow while being protected and allowed to by the law?

Seems to me if a group of people want to advance their cause - no matter what that cause - and show that they should be considered equal to others, then don't do thing that bring ridicule upon themselves.

i agree here Burpo.....and the Frisco type parades are what im saying do this to them,if you wanna be taken seriously......be serious about your cause......

I guess it's just that I'm of the opinion one shouldn't have to barricade themselves in their home for someone else to enjoy their rights.

And yet the person who claimed to be offended by the visuals of the parade (burp) went out of his way to find, look at, and post graphic pictures of them.

Very odd.

If you don't like it, don't look at it. And certainly don't spend your time on the internet, tracking down photos of something you claim "offends" you.

I've never heard of any openly x-rated acts at gay pride. There's public lewdness laws that should be enforced, if they're are. I saw some very risque stuff at mardi gras, but I was there by choice. So if anyone is offended by the sexuality of some mardi gras parades, don't go to them. Its really that simple.

However, their cause is a celebration of diversity, if they all looked, dressed, and acted the same that would completely destroy what it is they are truly celebrating. I won't defend the Frisco one since I haven't been to that one personally, but again I say this, try to change your angle of perspective a little, there are very good reasons to celebrate diversity, we have achieved it first as a nation. It's the one claim to fame we still have right now.

Why is it odd? People always want people to back up their claims. I stated that the behaviour is unacceptable and I backed it up with pictures.

Not odd at all.

I bet if you searched the Internet you would find reports of x-rated acts. And I agree, public lewdness laws should be enforced.

All too many times though, we see these acts "over looked" because of who is doing them.

Some say that it's better for the authorities to look the other way than to enforce the laws.

I am all for diversity, I really am. Some would say that I don't show that. Show me a single post where I said homosexuality was a sin...you won't.

My problem is the display.

I would say the same thing about two heterosexual teenagers making out in a public park.

A woman in a super small strong bikini on a family beach is inappropriate.

I think that anti-abortion activists who parade around with pictures of dead fetuses are completely out of line and not helping their cause at all.

I think that people who trash neighborhoods and burn cars because their team won a championship are acting inappropriately.

There is a time and a place for everything.

When can we appropriately burn cars?

But yeah, I agree. It's not that there shouldn't be gay pride parades, it's the inappropriateness of some of the behavior. But of course, without the inappropriateness how would they shock and anyone? And if no one was shocked, no one would speak out against it. And if no one spoke out against it they wouldn't be able to brand others as homophobes. It's like kids that dye their hair green and sneer and say "What are you looking at" if anyone looks at them. It's really pretty juvenile when you think about it.

Then as we pointed out, contact the people responsible and get others who witness such behavior to do so as well. If it's that bad in your area then it's a detriment to the parades nation wide. But you can't blame them all for this because in most parades it's not tolerated. In Seattle for instance, no actual sexual acts are permitted, nudity still has it's limits which are observed (in spite of the bike ride), and it's an all inclusive event, no one is left out. Even though it would never happen, the KKK would be allowed to be in the parade if they pushed it. You can't cause positive change by just sitting around whining about it, you have to do something, you have to get involved. If enough people get involved then change happens, but if no one gets involved then change never happens. That's what the original gay movement taught us all.

Trashing neighborhoods and burning cars are illegal acts. Just as some of the acts at these events.

The rest of your most made me think of something

Just as the "N" word, the word "Queer" is supposedly taboo.

But "We're Queer, We're Here, Get Used To It" is ok?

Double standards are ok, if they are for the right reason. I thought everyone knew that?

CB is just upset that his whole "blacks don't tolerate homosexuals" theory was wiped out.

Blacks vehemently reject homosexuality and do not accept it in any large degree. The few black faggots that exist are outcasts.
